• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Where do I download Abacus FSDS?

Most Flightsim websites direct you to download Abacus FSDS from Abacuspub.com? However, there is NO download section on that website. So where PLEASE can I download this version of FSDS? I have a very old version of FSDS, on one of my usb hard drives but it goes back to 2002 and it will not load on my Win10 desktop PC.

Still waiting for a reply. Where can I get a copy of FSDS that loads onto my Win10 PC. I have loads of FSP mesh files, but need a copy of FSDS. PLEASE!

Please note that not many of us use FSDS any more - it's rather out of date, most people prefer to use the completely free Blender software, and Blender2FSX or P3D or MSFS. The publisher Abacus went out of business a while back. Even if you could find a download, you'd need the product key - and you won't get a new product key for it either.

Thanks for the info. I'm about to start learning about Blender.

Hi,

Have you tried Importing your FSDS models into ModelConverterX? If that goes well, you might be able to Export into an MDL format and use them that way. If they need more editing, then you could Export to a Blender compatible format and you should have a head start on the conversion process.

Hope this helps,

Me too - still use it today - started to try Blender, but quite tough trying to relate what FSDS did into the new terminology used in Blender. If only I could've started with Blender :D
