• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello Arno, how have u been,I have an animated wake for a carrier that views fine from all directions but from the front and at 1000 ft and up..when at that height viewing it from the front my wake effect will transform and appear on top of the deck..drop back down and it appears under the ship as it should..All is fine from rear landing views..I also had once a ship of my own with an oil skick effect under it and it did the same thing..must be some sort of effect priority on custom objects? Also AI ships do not have this phenomenon..any clues? see pic

Hi,

Very interesting... I suppose you can land on the static carrier ?
Maybe you should do the animation apart from the main file ? Or change the altitude of the flatten on sea level ?

Hi Joze..thanks..yes the carrier has a hard deck..it is the Flight deck 4 carrier RR by abacus..the wake is animated (effect) to make it illusion that the ship is moving as there are no way to attach a hard surface to an animated object or an AI ship..I was asked by them to see if I could clear up the phenomenon so I went here..as usuall I anything I come up with has some sort of problem or another that has no solution:yikes: :D

Hi,

I have the same Flight Deck software.
Is it necessary to attach the animation ? Is it not enough to place this animation on specific coords only ? I run FS2002, not FS9.
