• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Window/Glass

I know this has been covered but I'm not sure the answers supplied cover what I'm trying to do. I just want to have the window part to have the glass reflection on the attached Texture, the texture itself has been created in photoshop. In Blender (2.9) it is assigned to a single face. Do I need to create a separate face for the window and assign the glass texture or can I get away with just one face. I did try using the bool tool to create a rounded edge cube to get the right shape the intention being to select the edges of the remaining window and use F to fill in but that didn't work. Any ideas or help really appreciated

You'd want to cut out the window with the knife tool and assign msfs glass material to the face you will get - the simplest way to do it. You will also need to make the inner walls of the building (or at least make a box right behind the window and give it some texture) if you use that material though or otherwise the building will be "see through" the window, the backwall will be transparent. If you want the window look "kinda" glass, you could decrease the roughness part of the texture so it becomes shiny, or you could make it parallax too. Many different ways to do that.
