• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I was reading a blog somewhere online and saw this. I know we have German's in here somewhere so can you elaborate on this please? Its not making sense to me since I have little German historical knowledge where this is most likely originating from.

Don't talk with your hands in your pockets in Germany.
It's considered rude. It's also customary to keep your hands on the table while eating, rather than resting them in your lap.

I am not German, but the culture is similar enough.

There are basically two ways this can be construed as not good.
A. You just don't care what the other person has to say.
B. You may be hiding something in your hand. Which might also be the background behind hands on the table.

"Put your hands where I can see them!"

Sounds familiar, right?

Well, the reason why you're always hearing this is the same reason why you should keep your hands out of your pockets or on the table when taking to/dining with strangers.
And this applies globally.

Hi,

I am not German either ( and I do not really care about nationalities anyway) ) but both things are not polite in almost all of the countries I visited (including the USA, although in Texas you are allowed to put your thumb in your pocket without being considered low class and uneducated!).
What is also very inpolite is eating and chewing with open mouth, something which is considered very indecent in European countries (but maybe not in the USA?). 'Burping' though, after having finished your meal is supposed to be saying that you have enjoyed your meal very much and is a compliment for the host, but only in the Far East and not here either.
Suggest you google for the word 'etiquette' and you will find a lot more things that you ought and ought not to do.
:)

PS You may have noticed that I am still trying to figure out how to use those darn new smileys:peanut:.
PS2 Some countries are more lenient as to the expletives you can use but I will not give any f...:censored: examples:yikes:.
PS3 Better go back to my airport project I am working on:tongue-ti.

In the US, both hands in the pockets is seen as casual or relaxed. One hand in the pocket means you have a gun or knife.

I never put my hands in my pockets when dining at a table.:stirthepo

I can only eat at a table with both hands in my pockets, by licking the food directly off the plate. Eurghh...:( 'nuff said.

etiquette around where I live involves not engaging in private acts with sheep in public :yikes:

Some cultures its ok to run around in a loin cloth naked and have nude "super pulp" orange juice commercials :D:scratchch:duck:, but in others its obscene.

Are you talking about the one in Eurotrip? If so, I regret to inform you, that we don't really have those :(
