Hi everyone,
This is my first scenery project and I decided to work on Seletar Airport WSSL since I'm from Singapore and there hasn't been any scenery for it. Not even an AFCAD (There's only one for X-Plane though). Seletar airport has recently undergone some major renovations and the area is now known as Seletar Aerospace park with tons of aviation manufacturers setting up camp there. Changi Airport WSSS has also announced that they will be moving some flights, particularly the slower prop aircraft, to land at Seletar as slots at Changi Airport are packed. The passenger terminal is going to be demolished and rebuilt so I'm waiting for the new design of that.
I did some flying lessons there before so its quite a memorable place for me. I'm planning to model the surrounding areas and possibly a number of Singapore landmarks. The default scenery models are rather outdated. These landmarks are important as the airport is VFR only. The proposed ILS system is yet to finish implementation. The VFR circuit is rather tight so you'll need the VFR landmarks to stay within the circuit or risk intruding military airspace (embarrassingly I did drift into the military airspace as a student pilot once and got a radio message from them).
I finally worked up the courage to share some WIP shots here since its Singapore's 50th birthday today. So Happy National Day to any Singaporeans here.
