• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

XP11 World Editor layout format to MSFS

Hi,

I was just wondering, since XP World Editor (WED) format is XML, if, technically speaking, a future tool could possibly convert the XML content of the saved WED source file to an MSFS relevant airport layout format + objects placements. This is certainly if the WED XML is indeed an airport layout. Otherwise it takes what's usable from it like object placement, exclusions etc and makes them adapted to MSFS layout specs.

I know a compiled scenery converter from FSX to XP exists, but I am not sure how easy or relevant converting the WED source file could be to save time if we already have an airport project we did for XP.

Very interesting the subject. I am a scenario builder. I understand how the design is. What I still don't know is where to get the information it requests for each texture line. DATA and SIZE

Hello:

I believe we would all like to encourage participation at FS Developer forums by people from all over the world. :)

However, just in case you did not read this in the forum documents for new users, ENGLISH is the language to be used.

Please use Google Translate if you are not able to translate accurately, and perhaps we can still understand your posts: :pushpin:

I hope this helps us to help you better in the future. ;)

The LAYOUT file carries 2 pieces of data for each texture line.
1 date 1 size /
I don't know how to get that data for each texture.
