Y turn with animated vehicle

Hi Guys!

Since a few weeks I'm trying to solve an issue. I do have a very small airport where I want to animate some traffic. The space is limited so at a certain point I can not simply make a huge loop turn, I have to park the car with an Y. I'm trying to accomplish that with 3ds Max path constraint. The difficult part is when the car should go reverse. I couldnt find any solution on the internet so I figured out myself a solution and the question is if you have better idea?

1. I have a main path (blue line) as usual the car follows it with path constraint.
2. At a certain point the car stops in a direction to go to reverse (like in real life) and waits a few moment
3. The path weight of the main path becomes 0, and the red line (reverse path) gets 50
4. The reverse path is followed from 100% to 0%
5. When stopped the weight is switched back to the main path.

I do have only one problem. For no reason at stage 2 for one frame the car switches to the red line and show it position at 100%. Basically the car should be at the right before reversing position. Any idea how to avoid that?

See screenshot.

Thanks
