FSX Yes its lights again and GMAX

Hi Everyone,

I am working on the proverbial "GMAX and lights" problem. My aim is to place lights on my airborne air carrier and scenery object using the OPT and a mission editor program.

I have looked at the FSD tutorial and followed the suggestions regarding the creation of lights in GMAX. I have also cloned the light object and put the DAY=1;NIGHT=0 and on the second object DAWN=1;DUSK=0.

So, here is my issue. I have successfully placed the "test light" in FSX on the ground near my home airport. The light displays correctly when FSX is in "object placement tool mode." When you close OPT however, save and reload the mission, the light disappears.

One possibility I haven't tried is to place the light away from the airport. Currently it is in grass field by the runway. I have also read about "effects"; not sure what this does to lights.

In any event, any thoughts or ideas are welcome.

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

John
