• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

FS2004 YSSY Error

Resource contributor

When I am entering a new flight plan and YSSY is the very first airport I enter, I get this message:

This can't be true, since YSSY is a default airport in FS9.

Tom, it sounds like your StockAirportList_FS9.dat file is not being found, at the very least.
Have you tried regenerating the FS9 list, and the addons list, through the Collect Airport Data?

I do not have such a file in my AIFP3. I do have the AirportList_Stock.dat file, which does contain the FS9 YSSY information:

Australia|New South Wales|Sydney|Kingsford Smith Intl|S33* 56.7667'|E151* 10.6333'|6.40M|*|*|YSSY|SYD|||Aust\scenery\AP988440.BGL|1105\scenery\APX88440.bgl

I was just reporting this to Don in case he wanted to check it, but it appears to be unique to my system, I guess.

Tom, do you not have a sub-folder Base Data in your AIFP folder? If not, then your installation is not complete and I suggest you re-install. Base Data contain the airport lists for all Flightsim versions.

AirportList_Stock.dat is an old file that is no longer used. AIFP creates a custom airport list named AirportList.dat for each version of FS when that version becomes the target version.
