• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Zooming the viewport background

How do you zoom in the viewport, when you are working with an airplane and with a background bipmap and an object, without screw up all., You put the background bitmap, calibrate, make the box to make the wing, but you need to get closer to work with vertices, but when zoom in the viewport, lost all the references, messing up all. It's important to manipulate the vertices.
Can be changed the wireframe colours of the mesh in the objects ?,
Anybody have got rid of the initial presentation windows of turbosquid ? (yes/continue), thanks in advance.

Well, as to the first question I know that this must be done with planes, to which you texture with the footprints, what about the another three questions

Startup Splashscreen:

C:\gmax\web\graphics\gmaxsplash.jpg

600x300 pix, 24bit JPEG file...

Roll your own if you want!

Thanks, I was referring to the buttons in the startup of gmax, visit/continue, if there is some trick, I attach a picture, sorry, I knew my english would be a problem :o

This shouldn't appear every time, but it does want to to 'check in' now and then -- maybe once a month?

So it's simple to click 'visit' and just close your browser when it opens once a month. Clicking 'visit' also opens GMAX as normal, so you can actually just ignore the browser page...

Hi, your are right ¡¡, I visit the web and could open Gmax normally :o, I have running Gmax in this state since I installed this ¡¡, I get confused because initially it's make me visit the web twice or three times and I thought this would be so for ever or something so. My God, always one seem like an apprentice. well I've learned to start up Gmax, step by step :D thanks a lot.

Sorry, may be I have been a little ironic, but I am with a Gmax tutorial and I'm getting a little nervous. and the questios were important for me. just joking

can someone tell which is your favourite way to work with footprints, I'd like to work without the planes, but I've seen is almost imposible, I'am stuck and I think it is vital issue. incredible how the things get messed up  a step that should be simple.

The answer is that none of us use backdrop images because of all the problems - we all use planes.

Hope this helps,

Yes, I almost get this work, but if you lost the order in which you lock the screen could be fatal :o. all right is what I wanted to know in some sense, I am confusing because being something essential the information I got was not at all very clear. thanks anyway

hm, im confused. Maybe its because english ist not my native speaking but just let me ask if i understand you right.

Do you just want to create an airplane with the use of blueprints as backgroundimages like explaned HERE?

Cause this shouldnt be a probelm, if you work with viewports in "smooth & highlights" settings and the planes frozen (show frozen in grey unchecked).

Yes, exactly, nice video, this guy say that the backdrops must be square, somewhere I had read that too, what I wanted was not to use the planes for reference in the modelling of the airplane ( which is another method), and following the tutorial of gmax method gave problem of backdrops jumping all around, anyway I "think" I solved the issue.

Yeah it is easier with square images and planes, but it also works with nonsquare images, but then you have to keep the same aspect ratio for the planes as for the image. -> calculator

yep, I saw a calculator in some video tutorial, anyway I couldn't understand nothing, my english isn't the best :D, and I ask myshelf what do you want the plane in the perspective view for? is of little useness.
Thank for your replies.

yeah thats right, but you cant add a plane only to the top/site views. I used a aerial image as reference to place objects in gmax, makes it alot easier.
