• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have recently created a twitter account, I never was into twitter but I got the hang of it. It's got nothing to do with generosity.
Making a model alone takes a huge amount of time, doing a serious system simulation takes at least as long.
At the rate at which this model is progressing and assuming the implementation of a full systems simuation, you could expect a release date in the 2020s...

Also, since this is a freeware project in the first place, I would lower my expectations to the "at least it's free" level. By doing that, you're going to be pleasantly surprised about every nifty little extra the aircraft will have to offer.
 
Any news on the project or did i miss something and it stopped ? I could understand this since sometimes private issues do not allow to continue work on fun games like FS ... Just ask for an update.

It seems Rafael is off the business for while due to his "real life" issue.
Project was on hold as project team all had some time off from November to December.
Our timeline is alive and project should be on going as January 2013 had already started. Rafael was online until mid-January. but with some real life issue of him started bothering the project. It seems he's off for while.

Other members of project team are still alive and is also waiting for Rafael's updated news. So.. be patient and stay tuned :)

Back in buisiness

The project is still alive. Rafael has moved and been without internet. He did some repaints and after that the modelling will continue.

However I have not heared from our panel guy in a while.

I just had a photoshoot in a DC8 today so I'm happy to report some new photographic material. If anyone is interested, PM me.

Also, tomorrow is my last chance to go take some pics of this plane (9G-BAN, a 62CF). Tuesday the hammer is going to tear it up. It's stripped to the bone so there are no instrument to photograph but I can still take measurements etc.

So let me know ASAP!

I must agree with you, but we are planning a fairly complex model. Then again as you say, we all have day jobs, some have kids... it will take a long time. The plan for now is to release a 73F with basic systems and VC and later other versions will join and the systems will get more and more detailed. Think of it like the Tinmouse project, it too has been running for years on end.

By the way, Rafael is looking for the DC8 wing twist data, if anyone can help...
 
WOW!!! This thread is AMAZING!! I LOVE seeing the progress you've made, and the level of detail and precision is mindblowing! You've certainly come a very long way! keep up the awesome work!

I have a question though. Is your plane for FS9 of for FSX? I'm asking because from your screenshots I can see you see a lot of polygons (way more than my a340 model). Won't this affect the framerate? I haven't flown neither of my models (the FS-optimised and the high-poly-model for video renders) in FS yet so I don't know if the difference is so big. Maybe I should try that sometime lol

Anyway, I'll be waiting impatiently for the next update :D Your thread is motivating me aswell, so thanks for that!

The project is still alive, so no one please loose, this thread isn't going anywhere. LIke all have said, I was dealing with a couple of life issues...I'm painting some requests at the moment and some HJG birds but should quickly hop back into 3d modeling again and get this project going. :D
