• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

RELEASED: Fokker T.5 bomber for FSX/P3D

I don't know which sites you have tried, but I managed to find many blueprints for the Fokker you are building and one particular forum has very good detail of the aircraft including some internal shots, plus a cutaway drawing here is the link hope it helps : http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=24689.36 The link is for a particular page, but look at the other pages there are various pics etc.

@hairyspin: Blender has something that is called Loft, but it doesn't work too well, in my opinion.

@dougbr2005: thanks for the link, I stumled upon the page several times. In fact, these drawings (and a few more) make up my base for modelling.

I couldn't resist to put two Mercury's on the bird :D I understood the Pegasus (XXVI) and the Mercury are relatives, so changing the Mercury into a Pegasus won't be too difficult.

I need references though. Does someone have (good) photographs, drawings, sketches of this engine? I found Google a little disappointing this time...

Thanks Kris! I changed the Mercury a little now it is a Pegasus. Maybe some things need to be changed yet, like texture which I'm not really satisfied of, should be less colourful...

Anyway, both model...

Oh man, I love these huge radial engines!

It's like an An-2 on steroids :rotfl:

I keep on updating, but progress is going on nicely, so...

I added the vertical stabilizers and refined both the vertical and horizontal tail. There's a tailplane now, with elevators and rudders and trim surfaces.

Wow!
You are making amazing progress on this!

Curious, do the engine nacelles merge into the wing mesh, or is there a display priority on the wing?

Wauw... Just wauw! The progress you are booking is incredible! I love the detail in the engine, it looks superb! Can't wait to see this in my virtual skies! Any chance for a Prepar3d version of this beauty?

Firstly great looking model, but just one question how are you going to get around the bleed at your fuselage joint. The forward section is smoothed and the rear you are leaving I guess un-smoothed which is creating an obvious bleed. Would it not be better to smooth the rear and create the ribbing effect using bump mapping. Maybe I am jumping the gun and you already have that in mind. In any case great progress!

@dougbr2005: Thanks for your reply. My personal approach for fuselage parts with fabric, is to use flat shading on the faces. In fact, these faces are smoothed, but the edges between each face are split (not in longitudinal direction btw). The real bird has a wooden mid-fuselage and wings. A steel-tube truss tail section is attached to it, covered eventually with fabric. The bleed between the two sections isn't smooth in real. I've got photographs showing this, but these aren't mine so I can't upload them...
I might decide to modify this in a later stage, but basically this is the way it will be forever.

@Roel: I can't promise things around P3D, since I find it far too expensive to buy a license. So, expect there won't come a P3D native version, I'm sorry.

Continued work on the Main Landing Gear. The red rods are Remove Before Flight things, they were used to prevent retracting the gear while on the ground. They had to be removed before flight.
As you can see, there are drawings available, but as soon as you're making progress, there's still not enough detail. So, if anyone has drawings/photographs of both the gear and/or the wheelbay, please...?

Don't worry about the detail. No one's gonna look into the wheel well anyway.

Bjoern won't but plenty will: you're not building for FS98 here. A well-detailed gear set is always a plus on historic aircraft.

I'll try to create some detail by adding fire extinguishers there. We have plenty of information on the Fokker G.1, and I believe Fokker loved commonality (like aircraft factories always should). So the G.1 could be a good starting point for the G.1 in this case.
