• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

For Developers looking for any alternative Marketplaces:

https://aerosoar.net/ is live! Feel free to explore the new website. This is going to most likely be the final look and webhost provider.

While we are discussing the re-release of the website, let me go ahead and outline some important features:

1)
This is an open-community website designed for all Aerosoar Developers and Official Partners.

2)
Official Partner's can host/sell their payware on our website for a 10% Fee - We will never take your income per sale, this is to cover PayPal fees and debit card fees with a minimum of $4.00 sell price.

3)
All freeware by Aerosoar Developers and Official Partners will be updated and cross-linked between Flightsim.to or their hosting website.

4)
If you would like to sell your add-ons with Aerosoar, please inquire about a Aerosoar Partnership first. Once approved we will send you a link online. There you can describe your product, upload it to the marketplace, and connect your payment method for automatic payouts.

5)
For BUYERS*, we have implemented a feature called* "Community Pushback", at the very bottom of the site you will see a Blue Crown. By signing up for the Community Pushback rewards program, you will earn "Flight Miles" through purchases, sharing our website, and linking your birthday. Flight Miles will give you cash towards your purchase. These are non-expiring with no minimum purchase.

Enjoy! Without the entire community and generous donations, we wouldn't be able to offer 10% and Community Funding! If you would like to donate to the community, website costs, and future "Lower-Cost" Payware, you can do so at the bottom of the website!

Thanks Guys - NewkTV

So, is this an entirely new Edgley Optica and not the one by Craig Richardson and Pam Brooker you had been editing for MSFS with their permission and who's work you are either soliciting donations for, or on behalf of? I'd observe that openly selling MSFS assets in your payware section seems like a recipe for excitement, to say the least.

Back to the freeware and any donations garnered from my uploaded content, do those go to me, or to you? I mean, I hate to even ask, but after reading this:
Just because I support FSX conversions, a modern method, VR Support, Open-Source Development and aiding community Freeware development DOESN'T make me some pirate out for everybody's loot.
the lines seem a little blurry round here.

I'm confused by your statement. Did you click on the link and go to the Flightsim.to information?

There you will receive all the info you need, I worked directly with Pam on this project by the permission of Craig. If you have a problem with it, I suggest you ask them why they collaborated with me. BTW, only the 3D Model and Sounds were used, the rest of the project is 100% built from scratch, Modern, and Native... including the textures.

The donation link on my website is a banner across the entire page-set and it is for others to help out with the 0% Fee and Community Pushback program. Other developers can sell on our site for free without me taking a chunk. With Multi-Vendor registration, payouts directly go to their paypal as soon as a consumer purchases their add-on. Compare this to SimMarket, for example, who takes 30% of seller income. I'd say that's pretty "Open" development as I can get. Donations are just there to help out with the running costs. Hosting a multi-vendor website costs around $40 a month. Having a donation link helps, but as most of us know, it never covers the costs... I'm doing this for the community because I care about developers and their payouts.

To further delve into your last comment, all "Freeware" is not hosted on my website. I've simple crosslinked all Freeware to either flightsim.to or their host. Once you get on FlightSim.to, you can see the creators donation information if you would like to donate to them. Hopefully this answers your questions a little better.

Oh no, you misunderstand. It is my fault, my "powers of observation" are like this big lazery searchlight that blasts out of my forehead and incinerates anything it touches. That is their baby and they are free to share it with the world as they see fit.

Also, I myself, am really bad with endorsements. I gather models from all over the internet, place them in my scenes and rarely give proper credit, so I get it. Why bother, eh? The other side of it, is that I actually have some original content. Somewhere, someone didn't make the Mona Lisa right, so I had to model my own version. I have other originals, nearly exact copies of very mundane real world ships and landmarks. NOTHING like the Edgely Optica, but I suppose I am not quite that creative.

So...you are trying to save the community that 30% then? The vendor side of the community or the developer side? You feel you can provide the exposure and robust support that Simmarket does. I say go for it, they could use another Flight1 on the block. Accomplishing that on $40/month will be an impressive feat.

Thanks man, must of read it wrong! :) at Aerosoar we try to provide low cost payware as we aren't huge companies like OrbX or Aerosoft. I'm personally going to post any I do for $5 - $15 or so depending on time spent and collaboration. Anyways, thanks for your support and sorry for the misunderstanding lol
