• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    fs2004 moving cars,people etc

Local AI traffic like shown in the clip could be done quite easely. As long as cars might be useable as AI. On roads outside airport aeras it will be more difficult, as these should be flat. At least it could be restricted to landing zones. Further away it is no longer of any use. Bernard

    fs2004 moving cars,people etc

You are totally right, and I share entirely your point of view. Just as an idea: You might place stearable vehilces as static AI too. Not all of them could be converted to static objects while using SAMM. Especially CFS ships. However these later need a modified aircraft.cfg to be shown in FS9...

    fs2004 moving cars,people etc

I guess that we still are talking about FS9. For several aiports of CalClassic's Central Europe sceneries I created AI crash tender traffic. So I got some experience with adding car traffic. These are added on aiports or ADE streets and racing tracks.. The most important that those have to be...

Decompiling default Afcad with ADE illegal

I fully agree with you, Jon. Might this also be understood by those who brought up the whole thing in an other Flight Simulator Forum and obvisouly are also regular guests here! Thanks for spending time and finally having been very clearly. It wasn't a nonsense discussion ... Bernard

Decompiling default Afcad with ADE illegal

I don't think anything. I just asked whether it's right or not. The question occured in an other forum and related to JABBgl, BTW.

Decompiling default Afcad with ADE illegal

SDK is provided by Microsoft and therefore not prohibited. The limitations concern just 3rd party tools.

Decompiling default Afcad with ADE illegal

EULA states: "Limitations on Reverse Engineering, Decompilation, and Disassembly. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation." AI Ships for long distance

Jive1, I red your last post at Avsim. As I unterstand, you try to have an Afcad A from which the ship "takes-off", create waypoints to avoid landscapes and let the ship moving to Afcad B. It's that right? Bernard

    AI Ships for long distance

Sorry Jive1, but the direction is given by the apron path, not by the flightplan. Having an airport X as departure point and airport XX as arrival, with two Arfcad, would work, but your ship takes off like an a/c, and very fast! The famous video showing how to create a ship traffic isn't very...

    AI Ships for long distance

Any problem. A very nice ship! Could be used as classic steamer as well. Send me your mail adress over Conversation. But be patient to get my answer as I'am actually in Italy. I forgot two further special traffic too: - an AI ship steaming form Pireaus to Patra passing the Korithnos canal...

    AI Ships for long distance

I created different routes, here some of them: - Around Manhattan with Circle Line - QE2 from Southampton to off Lands End - Norwegian CFS2 Trawler form Sognefjorden to the open sea - Commande Costeau's "Calypso" doing a short trip a Daedalus Reef in the Red Sea with some AI dolphins - Junks...

    AI Ships for long distance

There is indeed a special aircraft.cfg needed to get FS9 or CFS2 stearable ships working as AI. Problematic is to adapt smoke and waves to each type of ship. Therefore I simply deleted those effects. Bernard

    AI Ships for long distance

A sim.cfg for FS9? Never heard about something like that. All you need is a suitable AI ship, a suitable Afcad and a traffic file. That's all. Bernard

    AI Ships for long distance

AIBTC allows effectively to create ship traffic across oceans. FS9 doesn't, as Holger already pointed out. Holger's "Starter Kit" is the masterpiece for creating AI ship traffic in FS9. Up to now I haven't seen any other suitable alternative. Bernard

FS2004 Static object as AI - missing textures

Hi Bernardo, Has the the bit depth of the texture an influence? I noticed that simple AI textures have mostly a bit depth of 8. The texture I should use for the AI ship has bit depth of 32. Might this be the reason that the texture is not shown? Bernard

FS2004 Static object as AI - missing textures

The bgl model has been converted with MCX and Makemdl.exe. As I said, the model works fine. The two texture files are in BMP format with size 256 x 256. Bernard

FS2004 Static object as AI - missing textures

I converted sucessfully a ship out of FS9 Static Objects Library to an AI ship. It works fine, besides that it's shows no textures. The textures files have been copied to the texture folder of the AI, but no result. Did I something wrong or is it at last impossible to get textures? Thanks for...

    Problems with deleting stock data

Thanks for your help. I tried again to modify a stock airport and it seems to work well. Obviously I have to make changes with ADE a not with AFX or AFCAD. Ohterwise it will restore the initial status. Bernard

    Problems with deleting stock data

Initially it was certainly a Stock Airport. Up to know I modified the runways, taxiways and parkings. Beside the remaining taxi signs it works ok. Now i would delete some buildings to backdate the airport. May be I should rather use ExcBuilder than ADE. But I thought it would be easier to do...
