• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ADEX parkings

Hi guys wonder if someone can explain to me why is it that sometimes when modifying an airport and having added the necesary parkings, I get a green line crossing between some of the created parkings, and I just have to delete them;its as if the space where insifucient for the number of parkings created? this can happen either on a single apron or between them. I have tried different ways trying to avoid this without results.
Appreciate your comments
Thanks

Hi Ray, yes reading my threat it did sound confussing:ok let me try once more before sending an attachment with which I always have trouble:
1.-I am trying to modify SVSO and incorporate the AFB that does not show on the stock-default airport.
2.-So I select one of the 2/3 aprons that the airport has and replace or place new parkings for the Military planes to land there.
3.- Then I do the same on the other apron.
4.-Save and close.
5.-If go back to the saved airport, I will find green-yellowish lines crossing from one apron to the other deleting the conecting paths from the taxi path to the parking spot, on some or all of the created parkings.
6.-No errors are shown on ADEX
7.-Before reading your reply I went back to work on the airport. Increased the size of tha aprons, palced the parkings, saved, closed, went back, and the yellowish lines where gone and everything looks fine? So guedss its the size of the apron doing the trouble?

Well! i am easily confused :)
Ok! which version of ADE are you using,
if this is what i think it is! we had that problem years ago in development but you should not be getting this now with v1.50.44
maybe attaching a pic would help others as well as myself

It sounds like you might have had a node out of index order.

At times I've seen airports where the link from a parking spot to the connecting node somehow gets confused and the lines from several parking spots will converge across long areas of an airport.

I really don't know what causes that, or how to fix it other than removing the offending node.

One thing to watch out and avoid is having duplicate parking spot name / numbers.

Ok guys thanks for your replies, being away from home somedays.
I am using ADEX latest version.
And yes the way to fix the proble is by deleting the conflicting parking.
It does not hapen every time
I will work on a new airport today and see what happens, and by the way, checked if I had duplicate parking numbers, and there were none
Will be back
Regards

Hi guys,I am back and with an airport that I would like to attach to you however I have completly forgotten wich keys to click on to savethe airport and where does the saved attachment go. The airport is loaded with the crossing yelow lines mentioned before and would appreciate some help.

Trying to attach an airport showing the problem with the crossing lines.I have a zip image on my desktop and it won't upload, any ideas?

Yes the thumbnail shows exactly the same problem that I am having on some airports that I modify, not all. What did you do? Because the only way that I have found to correct the airport, is by deleting the apparently conflicting parkings and leaving the airport with a lot less of them.

Jan, I see that you had the problem with an older ADE version and not with the new one. This is what puzzles me because I am using Adex latest version and the problem seems to show only on some airportsnot on all?
Thanks for your help

Mameni,
you say you are using the latest version, which one? the beta version or version 1.50.44?
you should not be getting this problem now with v1.50.44
I've not seen this now for years, strange this is now popped up again!
if its' v1.50.44, maybe try reinstalling it again

Ray:

The adex version is 1.504402. Since I was not able to upload the file, I have send the .ad2 project to Jon. Hope he can come to grips on the issue which as you very well know is very unpleasant

Ah! Ok, lets see what Jon comes up with,
i do remember it and you are right it was a pain at the time, but I've never seen it since the fix, and never with v1.50.44, that's why it surprised me......
if i remember it used to shoot the path off to the ARP
have you tried the Beta version, or would you rather not at the moment?

Mameni ,

Open your project and select "Lists -> TaxiPoints".

In the dialog, click on the header "Index" to sort the points by index.

What is the maximum "Index" and are there any duplicate Index values?

I have looked at the file. The problem is a number of parking links that are mis-connected. There are some parking spots without links so I suppose it is possible that the mis-placed links are intended for the orphan parking.

The mis-placed links are connected to taxi points. The major issue with an older version of ADE was links getting attached to the airport reference point. That is not happening here.

Deleting the mis-placed links does not cause any issues and adding links to the orphan parking is also fine.

There are no duplicated parking spot indexes and no duplicated taxi point indexes.

Manuel

Does this problem just happen without any warning? When do you see it? Does it appear after a save and load or is there any other trigger.

As far as I can tell the project is prefectly normal. The Issue Manager finds nothing and the fault finder is also clear.

I have no idea why this arises  Sorry :o

I have attached the file here in case anyone else can spot an issue

It is weird. The non-orphan parking spots are connected to nodes, but some of the end nodes are wrong.

I tried adding parking links from non-existing nodes and the result was as expected.

I have never seen this before.

Me neither. I can't imagine for the moment how it could happen 'spontaneously'
