• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Aerofly 2 Released; Beta; Steam Games

Hate to bust you're bubble but those are volcanic calderas formed from erupting magma pockets. Small meteor craters would have disappeared long ago from erosion and tectonic plate upheaval going on there.

nope... nope nope nope, Paul... Perhaps they are bomb craters from a long ago Mars attack against Mexico? Perhaps that is how Mars was wiped out. They picked on Mexico and they wiped them out...

I dont know.. To me, they look like impact craters.. or bomb craters. If you fly through the S4 valley in Nevada by Area 51, you can see all the craters we made via testing bombs and nukes. These look like that, though I admit, how would they have stained the area black, like lava was pouring out. Unless it was super heated... I dont know... Just looks like craters.

This sim has me looking in awe at the terrain... So amazing. Forest areas' hide their ground with the tree's. You wouldnt see any of this.

Barringer Carter is awesome. When you approach it from the ground the lip looks like a mountain range. At the time I went they still had a lunar rover and a dummy in a space suit. The lunar astronauts used it for training.
The only reason we can still see the amazing results of this impact is because of the very little precipitation that would cause erosion and the tectonic tranquillity of the area. You can still find pieces of the meteor in it but they won't let you in the crater to look for them.
Anyone who lives near it should go see it, Bill. ;)

So... pointy (?)

That's Needles California. :rotfl:
I would think it would be difficult for a handful of designers to find all the anomalies for such large area scenery.

There seem to be fewer new videos of AFS2 being posted on Youtube lately, but that might be a seasonal/holiday issue.
Meanwhile here's another good one.
Feel the burn! ..
.

Very droll!

Yes but I'm sure that many 'developers' in Europe and elsewhere are frantically working around the clock to ensure that those droll textures are soon upgraded to the required standard and vibrancy of the rest of the mainland.
;-)

Posted the Screenshot on the Steam Forums, seems like that particular needle was already reported.

Hi,

Watched Gliderfan's latest.
Trees on the highways? With an af2.cfg that would work the same as in FSX/P3D, you would be able to remedy that easily.
What worries me more is the fact that they could have done better on the goundpolys that they put over the photo real, better meaning they should have used Hi-Res photo real instead of low quality ground poly.
And only some US States (for the moment) are included where no seasonal textures are really required.
It looks good though if you are not too critical but the real challenge will come when they have to come up with other states and continents, seasonal photo real, AI and an SDK for us to improve things they honestly cannot do all by themselves.
But (as I understand) it does not look like they have to add the third runway soon for Heathrow (sorry, I could not help myself, Jon:)).

I spotted a giant spike north of San Diego or North of Los Angeles. It was like a round cylinder the size of a city, and went up to about 10000 feet. But the next day it was gone, as though it was something my computer did, like a memory mistake or something.

Now I turn on SpeedFan app to speed up my fans and keep the card and chippie cool.

I cant take off in the Pitts... I keep spinning out and turning my bird into a Pitts parts store on the runway. over and over and over... About one in seven tries, I get airborn. Its a fun bird to fly, looks awesome inside, but dang if I can accellerate to take off in it.

A little over sensitive in rudder? They say keep the tail at or near the ground and let the plane take off.

Compensate for p-Factor with rudder and hold the stick back just aft of neutral. Let it take-off. No rotate!

I do believe you are wearing that flight simulator out!
Time to play Dovetail Flight School for a few weeks to let Aerofly cool down?

:)

I tried it all... One guy on Steam Discussions said to get the tail up, which made sense, as it handles fine when the tail is off the ground. But I cant even get the tail up, lolol..

I am so dang good at disassembling Pitts biplanes. :S

The little guy has some problem with inertia... I don't know, just star applyng a little power each time until it lift... maybe.

Edit: this works for me:

1. 10% power
2.compensate w/ruder
3.10% more powe until reach 24mph
4.pull all the stick back
5. 100% power
6. Pray

Sorry for the music
