• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Aerofly 2 Released; Beta; Steam Games

That also suggests that only "default animations" will be possible...

Eww!

FlightGear uses a similar system and it's a PITA to set up, especially for landing gears.

All I know is I want to be able to put planes in AF2. The environment is just to good. Perhaps an animation tool might be developed that would help out and speed up the animation programming system.

I dont think so. One of the Developers there, Jan, did quite a few animations on the stock Cessna 172; opening doors and windows and things. I am thinking, it might be far more easier to add custom animations. It might mean all we do is add the click zone and the animation trek/coordinates and thats it.

Wouldnt it be cool if we no longer had to have secondary code blocks, all those ID numbers for animations, etc. Just say 'click and go' and call it this or that... Maybe add in the A: and K: and L: and thats it. Would that not be a breath of fresh air? Simplicity...

EDIT: I really dont know. Speaking out of enthusiasm. I need to study the SDK a bit more. I havent had a chance to yet, just released the Trinidad. Havent flown in AF2 much either. I'll find out Bill about L:vars / Custom animations.

FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR HAMBURGER!

F18 from Edwards to Santa Catalina Island! Awesome.... FL 200 to Burbank, descent continous from there. Broke west to Catalina at Long Beach. Stopped half way down the runway, lol... I thought I was going to paint the back side of the mountain with a gray skidmark via this bird.

Spectacular scenery.

Nose cone almost touching Catalina Island. Long Beach under the nose cone. Los Angeles Basin area under the jet, close. Bob Hope is down there somewhere close.

Clearing the mountains coming into Burbank area (to my left).

Long Beach. Shipping container city... Queen Mary just above the rear left Elevator. Hughes Spruce Goose dome just to the right of the Queen. You can see the street area that makes for the Long Beach Grand Prix to the far left of the left elevator.

Proof! I made it. Stopped. Just past the terminal.

Parking my baby right here as I jump out and head for the mens room and then the restaurant... for my FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR (in fuel) Burger!

I can't remember if any of these questions have been asked or answered. I'm to lazy to go to their website and I trust you guys to get the best info.

What is the ocean and lake water like, is it static or does it have active waves? Are there any float or amphibs in the sim?

Does it now or will it have in the near future landable ocean platforms aka aircraft carriers. That's a big one for me. Pretty scenery is nice but it doesn't do much when you enjoy island hopping in the Pacific. :)

What is the weather generator like and to what extremes can it be set. I would like to see some screen shots of heavy thunderstorms if possible. Can it generate tornadoes or even better cyclones? Are there affective thermals for soaring?

I'm on a roll, too much coffee, up early taking the wife to Lindbergh Field.

Air traffic control?

Navigational aids?

Air and sea traffic? Don't care nothing bought no little cars scooting about. :p

Well that's all for now but I'll be back.

Paul, let me put it this way... Stick with FSX / P3D if those things really intrigue you. ;)

No traffic, basic weather with basic settings, no water animation (mine never worked in FSX or P3D for some reason), no carriers (yet), no ATC, no GPS routing yet. Just good ole flying.

A lot of updates are about to occur to the planes.

One step at a time.

For me, its 10X more realistic then FSX and thats without all those things.

If you look at my top three screenshots, 'that' is what the world should look like in the year 2016 on a flight simulator. FS2004 looked more realistic then FSX does. Thats my thoughts. My own opinion.

Thanks for answering my questions. :)
I like what I see and a bit intrigued. So it's VFR fly by the seat of your pants type thing?
I'll watch while you guys test but for now I'm going to stick to the old ways I'm familiar with plus I'm greedy, I want it all.

I'm learning a lot of US Geography with this sim :p

Same here, lol... I learned so much about my own State of Arizona geography. I just cannot believe we have mountains and valleys that I never knew we had.... I still havent explored it all yet.

I flew over San Francisco tonight. What a huge city. Goodness. Flew over to the North mountains past the Golden Gate. City just keeps going... Amazing.

All the sims are running great on my new 1080gtx........ except Flight School....... :(

You got a GTX1080 ... sweet! I only upgraded recently to GTX970. Did you rename the Fsc.cfg and let Flight School rebuild its config file?

I should probably upgrade soon. I have an ancient GTX660. Goodness.. I remember when the Titan came out. Isnt that the 970?

I think 1080 are at the same lvl of the Titan, but cost less and uses a lot less power.

Well what the 10 series cards mean for simmers (for one thing) is that its finally possible to max out X-Plane 10. And of course its a dream on Aerofly Fs2.......

Also a great showing on P3D. Not so sure about Flight School.

This guy is a bit juddery.... I think because of using fraps. (Bleah)

Nvidia product naming is pretty confusing. Titan seems to be the name Nvidia used for some top of the line cards. The original Titan was based on the 700 series.

There is a newer product called Titan X based on the same architecture as the 900 series. The Titan X sells for well over $1000 while the 970 is closer to $300. The difference between the 2 is that the Titan X has much more memory, GPU cores and higher clock speed but at less than 1/3 of the cost the 970 is more bang for the buck.

With the new 10 series, there doesn't seem to be a Titan model. Instead there's the 1080 at the high end. Even the 1070 supposedly outperforms Titan X but at much lower cost. I can't see any point in buying Titan X these days unless you needed truckloads of VRAM.
