• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Aerofly 2 Released; Beta; Steam Games

A cool feature that this has, is that when you leave the sim, your position and everything is saved. Lets say you are flying over Death Valley and you exit. If you start up the sim again, just hit Start and you are back where you left off.

Having minimal things to setup is nice. I like how I can quickly go into a flight, not a long bootup time. Select plane, select start point, 'Start'. You can tune the time of day by eyesight via using the T key. (Time). Shift-T reverses the suns trek in the sky.

Data bar across the top is 'I' key (eye key), and Map is M.

You can assign up and down movement in the seat in the VC with PageUP and PageDN keys. (Mine wasnt set, so I had to set these for that).

Fuel useage isnt functioning yet.

Thank you for posting this information on Aerofly 2. I'd like to know if this version has similar damage features to version 1. For example does landing gear break off on hard impacts and crashes? If so could somebody post a video showing this happening on an Airbus or Boeing?
Thanks.
To my knowledge, no consumer-level simulation has ever propelled anyone over anyone's house, ever. Somehow the image brings to my mind absurd things like Monty Python and exploding cows. :)

Funnily enough that was exactly the image that came to my mind when I read that post ...Monty Python

BTW. Here's Jeff Favignano's review of Aerofly 2 in case you missed it

Brilliant video! Thanks for posting that, GliderFan.

He couldnt control the controls in the VC with mouse that were linked with joystick controls. Flaps and radios and things that are non-joystick tied can be mouse clicked, as he pointed out.

And zoom is Z key, with Shift-Z being unzoom, increments.

Apparently, yes. Trying to take off in the Pitts only brought pure disaster, breaking off wings and the elevators, flipping it upside down, etc. Rudder on my rig is too sensitive.

I hard landed the Russian trainer? a little too hard. Lose the nose gear, but it didnt reset the plane. I thought that was neat. With FS, you reset as soon as you 'booger it up'. ;)

No video.

Good figures for FlightSchool. I believe if they were priced both the same, the numbers might be different. ;) But they are doing much better then AF2. I have flown FlightSchool perhaps 3 times. Maybe 4. I have logged quite a bit of hours now in AF2. Very very addictive. The photo real scenery is just brilliant.... and the aircraft details.

Alright Bill, enough with the fun. Get back to work. We want to see what you've got on the drawing board. ;)

Below is some pure speculation:

I think the numbers might actually be better for Aerofly than they are for DTG. Remember, DTG has many many many more employees and much more overhead than Aerofly, and I suspect they also have to share out any profits among a wider cast of characters, including Orbx.

Aerofly, on the other hand probably has less than ten employees, and has already made a good profit from Aerofly 2 through iPhone and Android sales.

I suspect a lot more of the profit is likely going straight into their pockets than for DTG.

DTG is hovering at 55% approval with mixed reviews, and Aerofly is Hovering at 70% approval with mostly favorable reviews. How will that affect the sales curve going forward.........?

lets see.

Seriously though. This does look like a fun little sim with potential for bigger things.

Interesting. Thanks for posting that. The race is on and someone is in the lead. :) Proof is in the pudding...

I have been exploring the photo real scenery a bit. Last night before bed it was Monterrey bay in the Cessna 182, a lap around traffic checking out the beach and the town from the air. I managed to keep the nose gear 'on' when landing, unlike with the Aeromacchi, poor thing. The airport crew know to run now when I am on approach.

Great clip there. In the first part, that dazzling sun effect sure looks cool. Im like a hypnotized deer staring into beautiful headlights, lol.. Love that.

The shine on the pilot is quickly fixed. If you do not turn off a material setting in FSX Materials, our stuff (like pilots) will look like this also. They can fix that in a single update.

She is a cutie... :)

I believe Mr. Lionheart has blocked my posts for some years now, and although I can't quite remember why, I am sure he has a good reason for doing so. :duck:

Therefore, since he seems to be the only forum member currently reviewing this simulator, can someone kindly ask him to post some screenshots of the Aerofly coverage of the Grand Canyon or Death Valley?

Much Obliged.
Cheers

The name President Bore-rat S.B looks remarkably similar to President Stephen Borick.

I do believe that it is a (misspelled) reference to Borat:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borat
Not disputing your belief, but I searched your link for the term "sb" and only came up with larger words, or pairs of words that happened to have those initials in a row. The character would be "BS," for Borat Sagdiyev. To me it looks more like a loose allusion to Borat, as opposed to a misrepresentation.
