• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Aerofly 2 Released; Beta; Steam Games

I do believe that it is a (misspelled) reference to Borat:

Yes is good. I like you! The other one not so much.

The name President Bore-rat S.B looks remarkably similar to President Stephen Borick.

Hello, thank you to speak me about Aerofly and not about President Bore-rat who tries to make 'next' fly-sim using only Kazakhstan scenery.

Very nice!

What do you believe now? That a Kazakh journalist is comparing Aerofly to some indigenous sim?

Hullo Mister Reiki !

Please to not compare Aerofly fly-sims to our glorious Kazakhstan fly-sims. Our sim is now under construct by our great President Bore-rat (senior) who works well behind the scenes with many teknik boffins from our Kazakhstan teknikal collage and some small boy gamers.
Ours will be best sim in whole world but limited to Kazakhstan scenery which is best in world. 'All other fly-sims have inferior scenery'.

Here you can see for yourself one of our glorious nextgen plane completions ready for test flies...

High Five!

I definitely prefer the humor over the scathing sarcasm and negativity, but would prevail upon all comers to step back and see how things can go sideways. I mentioned having been blocked by the OP for some unremembered and likely unimportant forum altercation in the past which does not define me, and for which I sincerely apologize for my part in.

I hate to go Biblical on anyone, and will likely be blocked by more members for having done so, but since the following words apply to new non-MS flight simulators as well as those who comment on them, the words seem appropriate: "a tree is known, not by its leaves, or bark, or form, but by its fruit."

A little sarcasm, cynicism, and negativity goes along way, and it becomes quite bore-ing to see it as the modus operandi of someones writing style. We are all supposed to be friends here which by definition suggests being friendly towards one another, not aggressive, argumentative, and adversarial.

Unless there are thoughtful and insightful discussions of the way flight simulators should work, flight sims of the future will be designed by those who don't have a clue and will approach the project as they would a driving game or a golf simulator. So shut down your "development computers", and go take an adventure flight at your nearest airport, it will do you some good and put things into perspective.

To those who will now block my posts.... See ya around.
(Steps down from soap box)

Cheers
Gman

"a tree is known, not by its leaves, or bark, or form, but by its fruit."

That's very true and appropriate.
We also have a saying back home..

“Turn your melodrama into a mellow drama.”

High Five!

I love a fly-sims, do you love a fly-sims?

Nice video Gliderfan.

Really interesting that many of the locations shown in this thread with videos and screenshots are Phoenix (Luke AFB), San Diego (MCRD) and San Francisco, all locations I work at nearly every month.

Does Aerofly 2 have any helicopters?

Thanks for posting this video.

Cheers

I can quote you chapter and verse Gman, as much as you like! Any discussion of new simulators goes south rapidly and it's a mystery why this should be. This thread, a user's impression of a beta version gave all the usual signs of becoming another tedious bunfight until the humour rescued it from the inevitable. I'd like to publicly thank Gliderfan for his contributions and artwork which certainly brightened my day.

To add to the Biblical references, here's one I used to apply to my old sport of windsurfing: all is vanity and chasing after the wind, from Ecclesiastes 1:14. It still seems appropriate to the search for a new sim.

I don't think it would be that hard, since their other (RC) sims already have copters. And as you can see, they already have detailed models of lots of craft, probably only requiring full FDM's and cockpits. https://www.aeroflyrc.com/aerofly_rc_7_model.html

I second that motion Tom!

Thanks Devon for the link to the discussion of Aerofly helicopters at Steam.

Cheers Gentlemen

I'm going to create a new sim and call it Next Generation interactive Take a Chill Pill.

Ha Ha Reiki. You made a good joke! You take "cheel peels!!" And I take "cheel peels!". Then we are all cheeled friends, then you come visit my sister!
Later on we have some real fun flying our glorious Kazakhstan fly-sims beta mark 1, and you meet my big boss, our great GREAT President Bore-rat.
(He good man, but please don't ever anger or criticize him or he will crush you like walnuts in his fist!)
;)
all is vanity and chasing after the wind

Good quote Hairyspin. Where did you windsurf, in Cornwall? I was into buggy kiting for a lot of years www.youtube.com/watch?v=raRK3IQ2W-0
I never graduated to kite-surfing or wind-surfing though, but did once attempt to windsurf in Spain. More off the board than on, and the sail kept thumping me whenever I fell in. I don't think all that sangria helped!

I'm glad you enjoyed the Borat references, but I have to admit the artwork isn't mine, I found it on the internet. That Borat plane is I think a custom made model for Trainz, perhaps even converted for FSX (but I hope not! ;)-.

And how smooth is this?

Man, that's probably the best landing view I've ever seen in a sim.

I have never hit the like button so many times in one thread. It's nice to see everyone getting along. :)
I needed this since my wife brought me to the emergency room early yesterday. I thought my heart was going to go "Alien" on me and blow out of my chest. It's left me weak and shaky and a half bit depressed. These posts help to cheer me up.
Rick W., the "Chill Pill" is very apropos, life is to short.

I love a fly-sims, do you love a fly-sims?
Say, when did the A320 become "Single Pilot Certified?" :rotfl:

EDIT: Paul, I'm distressed to hear about your health issue. Thank goodness for your loving spouse who took you to the ER.

Thanks for your concern Bill. I take things one day at the time and I get my pleasures where I can and this forum and it's members are high on my short list of pleasures that the doctors keep chiseling away at. ;)
