• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Airbus A350 XWB

I think I fixed the gear...

More details?

Now let's see how I'm gonna change the orientation ;)

Very detailed gear :D Nice. What I would suggest is that before rotating all the parts 180°, You make an empty parent at root level whose children will be all the previous root level objects and rotate only the empty. I don't know for sure, but I am worried about animations not functioning properly after the 180°... The easiest way to be sure of the outcome is turning the model now and redoing the blueprints, at least before animating. Just my :twocents:

Cheers :)

Thank you both for the kind words! :)
I will try that out Capt_X, thanks for the tip!

Hi everybody! (wait isn't that a line of a character of the Simpsons?)

Anyhow, just a quick update... I turned the aircraft around, little complications but all is well now! :)
I redid the blueprints, so everything is back and allligned...
I looked at the Front Gear, thought I missed something and then it hit me: Lights! So currently that's in the making! ;)
After that I'll probably look at the windws and then at the belly, witch somehow got smaller in the wing making process (anyone got any tips? see image below)

I'm still undicive about this project going the freeware or the payware path, I guess I've got enough development time ahead to figure that out... although opinions would obviously be appreciated... ;)

Hi, I like your model..! For payware/freeware, you might consider the features that you will add (and that things) and the safety issues :) good luck

Okay Thanks :)

But may I ask what you mean when you say "safety issues"?

How much are you going to protect your models against bad intentions of people (like piracy) I find the subject really annoying and so unfair for developers. Regards :)

Ohhh... Well I think I'll see how I'll protect it once I decide to make it payware (if I make the payware). ATM it's not a priority, but I do see what you try to say ;)

So I got some more work done last weeks, nothing big to show... Though I'm still modeling I thought I might just fly around iN FS some more and perhaps model some other stuff while still working on this... Since it sometimes gets frustrating modeling one part for too long ;)

Anyway, what I'm currently doing is the belly (again) I will remove the current one and make a new one that actually fits the blueprints ;) then it's back to the lighting on the gear and after that probably the gear doors and the gear well.... a lot still to do :)

I know that feeling...

I hope all goes well with the center belly section. Those things are difficult. Easier if you are working with a basic NURMS platform.

Well... I'm working on it ;) I'm looking for a way to do that in Blender as well (I remember I did something like it with the wing..)

anyway:

Just a meaningless screenshot...

And one using the most hopeless feature of blender... matcat.... :)

Looking great! I burn renderings a lot to see how the shape is coming along. I have high reflection white on mine to help see waves and issues. I should try a different color.

I searched for a high reflection white in Blender (since that to me seems like an aircraft color) but this is the best I found, other options where reflective blue and gold or matt white... :)
