• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Airbus A350 XWB

Actually that wouldn't have been a good reply, since (unlike the girl in that image seems to be) I'm not hysterical. And in order to achieve "realism" I will eventuelly have to give it some sort of fly-by-wire system, thus no wouldn't be correct.
True, true

You are very welcome!

You are doing an incredible job modeling!!:)

Thanks! Now I was thinking of making this a day of two milestones for this. The first one being the textures on the fusalage. ;) The second one I thought would be nice to post an image and perhaps get my 100th like, but I already got that just now :)

Still showing the image though ;) Bare with me here. I'm not a repainter, I have tried it in the past but always without luck. Still I could noot resist testing some texturing myself... ofcourse something went wrong and it turned out black... So it's back to the exporting the textures ;) So here are some alternative images:

And since today I reached that 100th likes, I'd like to thank everyone for their support, nice words and help with this project. I've still got a long way to go with this project, but I think that with the continuing support from all of you guys I'll have a lot of fun making it! thank you all!

Fixed it and now you can see for yourself why I've got someone who knows what he's doing paint it ;)
I painted this and it is awful...

I'm impressed with the speed that you're making progress.

Either Blender really helps your workflow or you're dedicating 24 hours a day to the model. :D

I got to spend more time on it lately. Although I'll pause for summer soon. And Blender does make it easier for me but I need to still learn a lot about it. But no I'm not developing 24/7 ;)

Well I finally figured it out! I don't like UV unwrapping ;) Don't get me wrong I know it has to be done but it's so annoying....
See I currently got the fusalae unwarp as follows (see image below) with a nose that has been split in 32 pieces and all of those need to come together inde four parts to get a good texture sheet... Also the doors you can see wil be a problem with this. I might have to start the UV unwrap all over again... I'm thinking of just starting modeling of the pilots just to avoid the UV unwrap for a second ;)

I would recommend you to seam the nose cone from the fuselage and project it from the front instead of making these stripes.

Well I guess I'll have to. Also I wanted to share wit you guys an interesting feauture I just found in Blender, I don't know if this is a well know feature or not but still... When pressing the V key in UV unwrap the selected face immediate alligns perfectly with the face it should be alligned with, so no more dragging around faces trying to allign them to their neighbour but just pressing V....

the "project from view" feature I guess?
Be careful with this one: Enlarge the outer edges in the UV map so the top faces of the plane ge as much pixels of the texture as the sides.

Your doing an amazing job F747fly, it looks amazing! I am really looking forward to painting this bird once the paintkit is released!

Might very well be, I just don't know. But I must admit I used smart UV unwrap, I don't know if it isn't better to sem everything amd then do a normal unwrap.

Thanks! I don't know when the paint kit will be out but I might make it accesable before release to give people the opportunity to make some repaints... I don't really know yet.

Anyway there are moments that you just want to have some fun flying the creation, today I filmed such a moment. Here it is:

And yes, the ailerons aren't fixed yet... I tried to but it didn't work so another attempt is required ;)
