• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Airbus A350 XWB

Thanks Heretic! I'll keep that in mind.At this moment I'm not really worried about GPWS Callouts because I first need to getthe gauges and all working, and to do that I'll need to propperly program them, and to do that I need to make the BMPs first. So I'm not at all at this stage where GPWS Callouts start being a topic.

Btw, 38 pages.... I should spam less stuff here.

Geez, these avionics qualify as a freaking nightmare! So many sub-screens and features that are not (easily) doable in MSFS.

I know it's still going to be difficult and I still have quite a long way to go but I think it might just turn out to be worth the effort in the end...

I see a lot of standard stuff in a different wrapper. Of course those outer screens might b a problem. I think they are EFBs (not sure) where charts etc are displayed. Shouldn't be too hard if you only display charts there. Like appointing a folder where people can put their own charts in so it displays here. I think Captain Sim did that with the 777. Those bottom screens is obviously the radiostack, those above the throttles is the fancy, new, touchscreen FMC. It's gonna be a hell of a job, but worth it in the end I think ;)

The wrapper is what makes this so nightmarish. All the configuration options for the screens, data entry possibilities...
Very true, so unless you (F747fly) get a boatload of info from either Airbus, airlines or pilots I'd focus on the more standard stuff like the overhead, radiostack, autopilot etc. I bet these systems are quite similar to the other Airbusses that are flying around.

For now that's exactly what I'm doing. Dispite knowing most Airbus systems from experience from -let's be honest - another Airbus product for FSX & P3D, I'm aware that it's going to be very difficult indeed. That has to do with that fact that the A350's cockpit is a product of development through multiple generations of cockpits designed by airbus to be as efficiant as possible, the second feauturing more stuff then the first and so forth. For example the A320 and A330/A340 aircraft (respectivelly the first and second generation cockpits, not counting the A300/A310 which feautured different philosophies) feautured paper-checklists whereas the A380 and A350XWB (Third and Fourth gen.) feauture "paperless-cockpits". Things are therefor bount to be different from the cockpit I "know" - not a Pilot, don't actually fly that in real-life - So yes I'll need to figure things out, one way or the other. Take for example the ECAM display options, they used to be just blow the ECAM screen with physicall buttons. Now that has been replaced with a big thouchscreen-FMC, so how does one change the displaysettings for the ECAM? I wouldn't know, which is why I need to contact Airbus, they might be able to help...
But for now it's focussing on the normal systems and gauges.

sounds, like the A350 Cockpit Systems are equal difficult to create as the ones were at the wilco Embraer which has pretty much the same System depths... since Embraer is using Touchscreen as well on the E-195 / E-1000 Series...

Thank you guys!

I will need to tweak the timeframe with some MDL coding.
No need to tweaking speed animation of landing gear, just make it 100 frame 100+ for strut . Animation speed can be edit or change in aircraft.cfg section attachment point

From my very early and very little knowledge, its quite easier using GDI+/D2D. My MV-22B glass cockpit has sub under sub.

And I am already worried about a 'simple' Aspen glass gauge, which is just nothing compared with an Airbus.

Nice model!

Nowadays people can do a whole lot of stuff concerning systems and gauges in FSX, looking back to some very detailed aircraft made in the past, using C++. It's all possiblr, the only unreliable factor in the whole process is euhm.... Me.

When it comes to gauges, the only limitations are skill and imagination. Your biggest challenges (assuming you want to go that far) will be the camera displays (P3D will make life easier in this respect), and the airport diagram maps on the navigation displays. The latter I am inclined to think are the most difficult.
