• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Airbus A350 XWB

Just to diverge a little (and appease the poster asking for a virtual cabin), I got the chance to go aboard F-WWCF (MSN002), y'know, Ms Sexy Carbon Fibre livery and here is her cabin!;)

Thanks Crhis. For the time being however thisproject has been put in the freezer I'm afraid...

Well if I have to be honest I'm no longer activelly working on it. Quite frankly after almost a year of work I found that the ammount of competition that works faster then I ever can popping up demotivated me quite a lot and even got me wondering I was even cut out for aircraft- and even FS design in general. After all it never really looked that good and there always were a whol lot of flaws to be spotted in every single image. I'm no good at modelling in the end, lot's of people do a whole lot of better job then me in whole lot of a shorter time. And that got me wondering if it was worth conituing this project and in fact any FS project. Don't get me wrong I had a lot of fun doing and I'm not killing the project, but I do put it away for now. So at this moment no progess is gonna be reported, but who knows in a few months I might be back. After all aircraft design is time consuming, so if people beat you to it it does hurt, and a skill, a skill I don't really have.

I hope you guys understand,

I just want to say that the work you've done looks very professional and think that you are a very talented designer. I had the same situation with a model of an ERJ-145 that I was working on, and reconsidered if I should continue work on it. So I decided that I'd slow down the project and only worked on it when I felt like it. I like to call these kind of projects Fun Projects, because you can work on it when you feel like it, and there is no pressure on you to get it done.

Happy Developing

I honestly think you have done a tremendous job, which have taught me a lot and served as inspiration - and I guess none of us cannot find flaws on our own models... Don't put it away for too long.

Brother, don't worry about "negative feedback" (if any...). This happened to me as well several times through the years; take a break if you need fresh air. Modelling does that to mortals like you and me; I really understand how you feel.

On the other hand, just need to read almost 50 pages in your post! That must tell you something, isn't it? You really are doing it impressively well!!! Don't give up your hard work. Once you have renewed your energy, everything will flow smoothly; you'll see brother, you'll see ...

Take care and I hope to see more of this beauty; when the time is right... when the time is right.
All my best,
Sergio.

Burnout is something that happens sooner or later (to me at least). I tend to have some sort of side project that I can turn to so I'm not looking at the same collection of bits day after day. Take a break...it is allowed! For what it is worth I think you've done well so far especially considering the complexity of a big plane like the A350 coupled with what I can imagine to be not a lot of reference material.

Thanks @antaris and @N2056 ! It's great to hear from the developers I respect that they face the same problems and that I'm doing okay.
Now that I'm slowly motivated again to start working on this aircraft, with a few ideas I had to improve existing parts and to make new parts aswell, I'm very confident I'll be able to post progress again some time soon. However I first have to clear a few things, which is why I don't start right away (unfortunatelly).
My most recent check has also found that the other A350-projects have stalled, last posts in january and fabruary, which got me back to the basic idea why I wanted to make this aircraft in the first place: No one's doing it, so I might just aswell try and do it!
So with a bit of patience I'll probably report back in the not to distant future.

Thank you all for the support!

I found a funny little feature thorough Blender. Has anyone ever heard or perhaps owns a VR glass by google (you can by them for 2 Euros from cardboard and use your phone with the a Google app named "Cardboard"). What's great about it is that it is that you can watch those YT videos that have 360 degree angles.
So I made one with a render of the VC (as a test). If you don't have VR glasses you can pause the video and use the mous to navigate. If you do have the glasses you still need to pause it for it's just an image using YT's meta data.

hope you enjoy this little test!

Well I was a bit concerned about compatibillty of that YT mode, but as it seems to work for most people I'll have two more:
