• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Black VC in external view?`

Hello.So I need a help.
Im fine with my exterior model but my interior is looks all black. So as U can see external model in max without textures is grey.Same story in VC.Problem is in FSX after compilation because my external is grey but internal is black. As well external textures are working fine but internal all allways black :(
As far I know textures are setup to ID.I mean doors are using 2 IDS.1 for internal texture and second for external +whole plane for one texture. My VC at the moment is attached to external model.
Thanks for answers and help.

I tried looking at your first pic and got a rather annoying pop-up "game". At that point the only way I'll close the window is via the Task Manager. I've had those sort of things bite me in the past. Needless to say I'm not trying pic 2.

Won't open the the pics either.

This is for what? FS9 or FSX?

In FSX you don't "attach" (surely you mean link) the VC to the exterior, you make it a separate model.

In FS9 you'd use two hierarchical root nodes, one called Exterior, the other Interior. Not linked.

Black parts in sim are usually indicative of wrong texture format.

In the sim you cannot show the VC in Exterior view. The VC only shows up in interior view. What you see of the cockpit in exterior view must be modelled as part of the exterior model.

Since all this is rather basic I suggest you study some tutorials first. Milton Shupe's come to mind.

I am sorry for not completed info. Its for FSX.
Ok so situation looks like this:
Every standard colour from max (red white green cdn..) as FSX material is working.I reset all material even scene. If I put my texture as diffuse I get black vc.
As far for me I was able to see this vc looks like "chrome-mirror" showing everything around plane.I do not change any settings in material editor.
Texture is 4kx4kx 32bit.Converted by ImgaeTool to dds.

mjahn:I cant agree with u at some points. That what I am trying to do is 2 different files but with exactly same model at all.So I mean exterior with full 3d and interior with full 3d exterior model.I think at external model I can use 3d vc and put texuture on it.Do not have to model super low poly one.Id like to use what I have as same for interior.I know that interior will be complited different story.

OK.The darkness place is there were are u not expecting them.:D
My texture name was kabina_srodek.Problem was with _.Should be kabinasrodek.:D

OK glad you got it sorted. Wrong file names or wrong format are often at the bottom of such display problems.
