• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA BN2A MKIII Trislander

You used to be able to buy CS.. Now you rent it. I got CS6 when you could buy it outright. I saved up for it. $1,000.00. Finally had the funds and got it. So glad I did. love that program.

You can download it for 2 week trial and try it out, then get the monthly program. See if that works for you.. I am sure you can turn it off (turn off monthly payments) when you cant afford it or you arent using it.

Bill, I don't think that renting or investing a large amount of money is a good idea when you've got no experience with graphics programs whatsoever and don't want to use it for commercial, day to day purposes in the first place.

I think I'm going to stay with the system I'm well use to. I'll just wait for the Trislander to ne released, even in beta format then I can get creating

I consider MS Paint the worst tool for repaining, but whatever floats your boat...

GIMP is a great freeware graphics tool, I've been using it for years & once you have mastered the basics you can do wonderful paints with it, there are lot's of online tutorials available.

If you have an Adobe ID, Photoshop CS2 is easily found on Adobe's site. Read the T&Cs.

Getting back into Joey after doing conversions of Erick Cantu's older models these past 2 weeks. The current Joey doesn't have rudder pedals/toebreaks, so that is my current task and it is no easy feat as images are really hard to come by. Thankfully I have contacts that operated the real bird and I work off what is sent to me. This represents at least 1 1/2-2 hours of work and the right side pedals haven't been cloned just yet until I get the left side done and mapped. Next up is the pedal itself and shouldn't be too hard to model. More to follow....

Pedal modeling almost complete. Need to clone the left foot pedals for the right foot, model some missing parts, map all parts, then clone the left pedal/mechanism assembly for the copilot side, animate....the life of a 3D modeler. At least now Joey will have his pedals ;)

Nice work on your Trilander.
I don't know if you already do this, but with cloned parts that are going to use the same texture & UVW mapping coordinates, I find it easier to map the part before cloning, resulting in less work & also if you need to alter the mesh you either add an edit mesh modifier or collapse the stack & retain the UVW mapping coordinates.

New shots. Remapped spinners with bump map and specular mapping applied. External model about finished with work in the VC/cabin ongoing.
