• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA BN2A MKIII Trislander

Fill in the blanks. The remaining instruments on Joey have been placed including the turn coordinator, VOR1, VOR2 and directional gyro. Of course, I do plan on adding the Aspen EFD1000 and GTN750 as used on the remaining Aurigny Trislanders before they were all retired.

Way before Aurigny decided to hang 3 blade props on their Trislanders, they came equipped with 2 blade props. On another note, I am deciding to revert to 2D gauges for the avionics for the fact that the code refuses to work within the host platform. It's not something I really wanted to do, but when something doesn't want to work no matter how much code is changed, then it's best to use something that does and believe me, I've been doing all I can to make the 3D code for the avionics function with little to no success. I'll play with once more to see if I can make them function, but 2D gauges are going to make it's way into this project.

Joey visits Puerto Rico On a side note, all 3D avionics have been removed as the updated code still wasn't allowing for the radios to be turned off, so they have been completely replaced by 2D gauges using 3rd party avionics. In the end, there will be configurations for the GTN650/750 (Flight1), GNS430/530, NavStax (Navstax/Milviz) avionics suite, Aspen EFD1000. Maybe at a later date if all code can be made functional, I'll reconsider adding the 3D elements.

I personally don't mind 2D things, I will get this plane weather the avionics are 2D or 3D!

Looks like Joey will have some companions ;) 2 more models are being studied for possible development and these are the short nose and cargo versions to round off all models. The last 2 models are being considered as expansions to the base models so I can release Joey first without delay. Interior and cockpit paint is ongoing at the moment, so no previews towards the back of the aircraft interior just yet.

Since the start of the Joey Trislander project up until now, it looks like it was a fullsize drone version of the aircraft, not no more. Joey and other Trislander variations has a pilot and does she look very awesome flying this plane:cool: For now, it is not animated as skinned mesh animations are not the easiest to do. Maybe later down the road, you'll get to see her in action. And no airline pilot uniform on her, just plain casual clothes will do;)

The last bit of modeling and coding is being implemented into the models including the warning lamps for the generators, rear engine RPM indicator and doors. Meanwhile, Rui Cristina has been busy painting the interior. There is no estimated time of release for this project as testing stil has to be done and this is freeware after all, it's worked on when time allows ;)

Coming soon for testing. There are a few issues I am taking care of at the moment and then I'll be looking for beta testers with FSX Acceleration, FSX Steam Edition, P3DV1-4. I have no paintkit or original baked textures at all for this aircraft and I am willing to offer anyone the raw textures for paintkit creation. Bump maps for the exterior is already in place, so those can be used in a paintkit creation. There will be 4 highly detailed models in the first release, blank polygon models to add your own avionics (2 and 3 blade props), Aspen EFD1000 and F1 GTN750 models (2 and 3 blade props), 1 UHD 4096 pixel livery (G-JOEY), custom sounds with soundcones and distance courtesy of Skyhigh Audio Simulations, virtual cockpit, rain on all glass surfaces. More info to follow.
