• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Thanks for the tip. I did get a little carried away with the dirt......And if someone wants to port this aircraft to FS9, I'd gladly let them do it (since I'm one of the few on this forum who doesn't own FS9 .)

Looking sweet!

As for the dirt issue... you ain't kidding. I used to work as a Line tech for a Charter company that ran first a 601 Challenger and then replaced it with a 604 (one of the former E-Trade birds)

I have a great understanding of where every single rivet is on a Challenger.

Also a note for your textures.. there isn't an escape hatch on the Left side of the aircraft. Only on the right. And it's not quite so tall...

Here's a few shots of the 601 I used to have to clean.... N79AN

And N831ET the 604 (not my pic)

Yes, I noticed the escape hatch problem and it has been fixed. ;) I cleaned up the dirt and now it has a shinier, more attractive finish. (Of course it will look better once the textures are actually FINISHED, but I couldn't resist posting another screenshot.

Work on the cockpit will begin immediately after the exterior is done (which shouldn't be too long, maybe another 3-4 days?) Anyway, I plan on making the VC as detailed as possible along with a highly accurate virtual cabin that should look like this:

Nope...It will be released as freeware! :-] It's illegal to commercialize stuff made with the student version of 3ds Max like what I have. So you will see this on Flightsim/Avsim/Simviation in a few months. :)

I'm not a modern jet fan, but I look forward to adding this to the classic prop warbirds in my hangar when it comes out. Could I suggest toning down the AO around the flaps gear on the wing undersides? It may just be the angle of the screenshot on the other hand.

Anyhow, keep at it! :)

Yes, it's just the angle combined with bad ENB settings. By the way, do you think adding bump maps would be worth my time on this model? I'm trying to put as much detail into the diffuse and specular as possible and I'm worried that a bump would be obsolete.

For the fun of it, I tried emulating a photo. :p

Note that the photograph is a of 601, so there are a few minor differences.

Hey ozzman, this looks amazing!!! I would love to take a stab at some reprints for this, I would do Royal Canadian Air Force CC-144's as well as RAAF, GAF, and Denmark's military challengers. Just curious, is the 601 and 604 models possible, or would that be hard to do? Thank you for your hard work on this project!

I would be grateful if you'd like want to help with some repaints! And yes, the -601 and -604 models have been in the back of my mind since the start, so I may just include those as well...which wouldn't be too hard, but it's the interior model that would take the most time. Each one has a completely different cockpit and systems. It would probably be over a year from now if I did that.:eek:

Awesome! Just in case I missed it, is your plan to release the exterior model first then VC and interior later?
