• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Thanks, I should have all the other airport buildings ready in short time it will make a big difference as well as cleaned up area where grass (ground scenery) meets poly (runways/taxiways) again looks much, much better then original release .

Great work, Andy!!! I see you getting a hang of your scenery - be to it that you learned a lot from trails and errors - great job!
A shame I was unable to hang out here due to my traveling job....

Even though the scenery is made for P3D, will it still work with FSX?

I had someone earlier post that they tried with FSX and it does not work.
I have new much better version ready with all the buildings at the airport some traffic roads and bunch other stuff just a matter of me getting my crap together and uploading it LOL
I think its only a matter of recompiling the BGL's then running the whole thing through MCX using FSX SDK and it might work. I do not have FSX SDK or FSX for that matter anymore and from what I read its quite a pain to get FSX SDK installed so I pass on making FSX version, but if anyone wants to you are welcome to do so.
either way i will try to find time and upload new CYXU version as it is much, much better with lots more details and various fixes.

Final Version Of CYXU now available.

Here is a preview to final version of my scenery, so you can try before you buy JK, it's FREE LOL, but yeah you can see if you like it and want to use it.

Here is video explaining how to install it and download links for the files are in description at the bottom of the video on youtube ;)

Enjoy

Wow this looks really good. And comparing it to some of the payware that recently got released on the simmarket this is so much better and that for free! When I am doing my next Canada-Tour I will give it a shot. Thank you!

Hi, I noticed earlier today that you released itn congratz, :)

No groundpoly, no building, no sode objects :/

I really want to fly there :) (downloaded the livery for this :) )

Marc

Hi Marc,

I just installed it and it seemed to go OK. Just make sure you are adding all the separate folders, such as CYXU Tarmac, CYXU Misc and CYXU Terminal to your addon scenery folder and enabling them all. Also, you need to add the contents of the Simobjects folder and the xml file to the SODE folder in Program Data. I actually cheated a bit and merged all the separate scenery folders for the airport in to the London Airport folder. So I just have one folder called London City and one folder called London Airport, each with one scenery and one texture folder. On my first test I just saw some flickering, but discovered there were doubles of buildings, so on closing I checked the ORBX folder and found there are 5 files that need to be turned off. The airport would have been upgraded in one of the FTX Global airports packs.

Actually I think it is all working except the jetways are missing. Must have gone wrong with the install somewhere.

Edit again:
I got the jetways working. It turned out that SODE wasn't active in P3D. I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version.

Thanks @shames6 for helping Marc.

Hi Marc, I will second what shames6 said make sure you add all the folders to your scenery library as explained in the install video I made.
It appears he was able to merge them all as well which i suspected should work just fine as it does for him.

Most importantly are you using P3d it does not work with FSX

Andy

Yes, Im using FSX ... :(
too bad, the scenery looked so good ;(
Im willing to have P3D but I can't buy as I don't have credit card :/

Thanks @AndyCYXU and @sharmes6 for taking time to help me :)

Grtz,

Andy, I am constantly making sceneries in P3D (now at v3.3), and so far they have all worked in FSX. Have you done any testing yourself to see why it is they are not compatible?
I have even tried creating P3D native GP's, and though they don't display similarily, they seem to work fine. i wonder what exactly makes a P3D scenery fail in FSX.....perhaps I'm not pushing the P3D boundaries enough :-)

I think it has to do with object/material properties I assign when processing original model and its textures out of SU or 3dsMAX with MCX.

looking at picture posted above by Marc appears that he is getting everything BUT! the actual OBJECTS that I created myself.
These being all the buildings as well as taxiways/runways.

HE gets the little things like parked cars, ground photo scenery, but these are made with instant scenery and SBX, no special attributes like what everything else has (reflection bumps, alpha etc)

So.... My uneducated guess is when MCX compiled my objects to the bgl's with p3d SDK all the attributes and properties etc...... FSX simply doesn't understand (can't read) the bgl file and shows NOTHING :)

So yeah in your case you might indeed not be pushing p3d SDK to its limits when it comes to all the fancy eye candy that evolved in p3d and is not possible on FSX

LAST you mention GP (ground poly) right?

My scenery does not have any GP's in it! My taxiways and runways are an object and they are compiled as such, if I made them a GP they would maybe them work I'm FSX but would be missing many properties that they have. When I was creating it there was something (I don't recall what exactly) where MCX CREATE GP using FSX SDK so many of the fancy things would not work in p3d

That's kinda long post Lol but yeah this is what I am thinking... I might try to do it with p3d 1.4 as suggested to me come winter... But idk... Imo FSX is old and I am surprised people didn't move to p3d already :D
I think it's LM'S fault and being LM they didn't want to be associated with entertainment software and all additional responsibly that comes with it and perhaps corporate market wouldn't look at p3d seriously if they did
LOL
but that's another topic all together

Andy
