• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Effect Doesen't Appear

Hi,

Just tried the effects and it works for me. I've attached a test mission with a menu item which starts a fountain effect. I haven't tried making it move though.

Just to check, the null object should be in:
<FSX>\SimObjects\Misc\EffectTracker\sim.cfg
<FSX>\SimObjects\Misc\EffectTracker\model\AI_Tracker_Object.mdl
<FSX>\SimObjects\Misc\EffectTracker\model\model.cfg

Cheers,
Jim

Hi Folks

Magiet -
AFAIK it's as Jim said,
not possible without -
a) knowing the name of the model's attachpoint,
and
b) that attachpoint being currently unused.

You can however make the AI a/c disappear using simconnect.

Not sure if the following is possible -
You could grab the AI a/c's position & velocity
before doing so,
then possibly spawn an effect at that location.

EDIT
Hadn't realised Jim had already replied
before I'd submitted my post.

to BASys

and to JIM too. ok thank you for tip. i never use Simconnect but i will soon... i want "ICEMAN" join me in close formation after kill all MIG-28! but now i work on the effect. Thank you very much.
my mig disepear that's not a problem but maybe simconnect can trig the effect? i gonna study the wizzard mission of jim.

THANK YOU BASys and JIM! see you soon;)

Hi,

You may be able to get something going by somehow merging the sim.cfg and 'air' files for the MIG-28 into the effect tracker so that it flies. I'm controlling the effects using SimConnect, so for my purposes it doesn't *need* to fly.

Cheers,
Jim

:DYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!! IT WORKS!!!:) I had to change your sim.cfg modifying category=simple object into airplane and adding airplane geometry after [fltsim.0] ... i add the mig.air file in the folder.:teacher: SO NOW IT FLY , IT EXPLODE but there is a small space (about 0.5 Nm) beetwin my mig and my tracker ... :scratchchi have to find a solution to make them very close!!

THANK YOU AGAIN JIM FOR YOUR AIEffectTRacker!!! ;)

Good stuff, glad you got it working. :D

Easy - just repaint the MIG-28 to have a BMW badge on the front. They never leave more than a few centimeters free space from the vehicle in front.

THANK YOU AGAIN JIM FOR YOUR AIEffectTRacker!!! ;)
Thanks - have fun with it.

Cheers,
Jim

:confused:sorry jim i don't understand your tip! do you wanna say that i have to apply textures of mig TO the tracker?? what is a BMW?
