• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

MSFS20 Fixing broken default ILS (PMI)

Hi all

I have a question:

The ILS in PMI (RWY24L) is not set-up properly. When you follow the glideslope you come in way too high and end up landing half way down the runway. Larger planes are unable to stop in time and overshoot the runway.
Is there any way this can be corrected by myself in the editor?
A friend of mine and I have been trying to fix this and have tried everything under the sun, but it will always revert back to the default ILS.
The only thing that seems to work is to set-up a new ILS with a different frequency. When we do that all is great, but using a random frequency is less than ideal, especially since we would like to share our work.

Has anyone managed to successfully correct a default ILS?

Have you set DeleteIls to true in the DeleteAirport Record?

I will have t try and test it - what stock airport is it please?
 
It is PMI/LEPA. The approach is 24L.
Initially the G/S is fine, but at 2.5NM it starts to go high (three whites on PAPI) and from 1.0NM way too high (four whites on PAPI). The aircraft then touches down about 100 to 200m after the touch down zone which is way too late.

In the real world we are usually asked to exit at S1 due to traffic and that is never a problem. In the sim I am still flying in the air past that exit :-)
 
Did you manage to get a solution to this? I have the issue where around 2nm from touchdown, it comes in too low, and the levels off again. My thought is that it could be the approach rather than the ILS?

Would be good to hear if you found the issue and a solution
