Flat Roof Autogen Texture Error

I have seen in the past that one of the flat roof textures is texture mapped incorrectly (I believe it was in a GEX forum), and instead of the roof texture showing, an A-line gabled wall texture appears on top.

Has anyone else come across this and is there any other flat roof style you could recommend that eliminates this problem.

I'm not running FTX so all the roof description spb's are original FSX stock. The only way I can see to fix this is replace the .spb with a fixed version, but then that would create issues with FTX users.

Hi Dean,

Yes, I have seen lots of problems with flat roofs. Either they have ugly walls or the texture mapping looks wrong. There is one type that I find acceptable, I'll have a look at the GUID when I'm home again.

What I am doing for my current project is using custom roofs, so that I can set my own textures.

That's not a bad idea Arno, I'm thinking of trying to tweak the default autogen roof definitions by tracking down and killing off the one with the pesky gable texture.

Frits, I believe that fix is just for those using Orbx FTX, for the default FSX roofdescriptions.spb there is still a bug which allows this texture issue to show up.

Has anyone successfully tracked down which GUID gives that particular texture bug? I'm looking myself right now but no success yet.

I haven't dug into it any further, I have just been looking at Utah and SoCal and realized they are using a different industrial building type, which doesn't show that problem. Getting back up to speed with the whole autogen building side of things at the moment.

In my case, even though I had uninstalled FTX (it was the original Tasmanian demo), FTX's installer hadn't restored the original FSX .spb file...so I would double check the date of that file to ensure it matches the rest of your standard FSX file dates.
