• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

FSX Light

What Aerosoft-scenery do you mean? I don't know Aerosoft airfields with this sort of conditioned animation at the moment.

It is of course possible - if you use FS9-code. Look for "tweaking" in the Wiki, you can use Arno's great MDLTweaker tool for that. But the mdl must be created with the FS2004 SDK.

i am talking of the London Heatrow, it is published by aerosoft but it is sim-wings there has createt it.
it was becaus i see in the manual and there was about Animated hangar doors/barrier and how you should use the nav1 frequency 113:00 to open the doors / barrier. and then i was thinking well they got an animation with an FRQ on nav 1. how do they do that, becaus then i could just create an object whit the lights in day houers and then give it an FRQ to get it shown when the user set the frq in the airplane.
 
Ah, Simwings, yes, they use lots of FS9 code.

As I wrote before: Read about model tweaking here in the Wiki and use Arno's tool, which has lots of related topics here in the forums. ;)
 
so that means that i should create the same object in gmax for FS2004. the export it and open it as in wiki info page and then when that is over use the file in FSX
 
Yes, FS2004 models are still working in fsx, even with display conditions. You only have to use FS9 materials in GMax.
 
well im fighting to get the gmax set up whit fs9 so i can export it and try that MDL tweeker 2. but the FStool dosent work.

Did you download the FS2004 SDKs?

yes i did yesterday and was tryeing again and again to get it working but it dosent. dont know if the placement could do the error. becaus in the gmax folder i have add the the 2004 version like fsx into the gamepacks folder just whit the name fs 2004

yes i doo i can se the tools but if i would use them i gives me the error becaus if you dont start it that way the fs tools is not there and that is normal. but yes i start it likde the FS X. AFK about 30 min
 
If I remember correct it is not necessary to use the FS tools if you want to export FS2004 MDLs. Simply export it with the MDLMaker and tweak the asm files.

well how do you export it in gmax to fs 9 is it like to fsx export to mdl or what. becaus now i have to set it up like in fsx but im goeing to need the tools later becaus i mabe need an effect to the object.

well manualy i got the frindly name and so on placed then i would export it to bgl for scenary object and it looks nice then it gives me an error about the mdl maker

what der **** now it export It

You seem to be very confused...

Just to be perfectly clear, you can NOT use the FSX Tools if you are exporting using the FS9 Gamepack and MakeMDL.exe...
 
well now i got a demo to bee shown in FSX not corect nav 2 frq but it works. but my big problem is that i cant remember how to get the object to light up in the day houers i have creat 1 for som time ago where it work. so if i can get it working again i think i only need some new light to the object so it is posible to be seen at distance like the orginal fs RWY light. becaus in many add ons they use a littel light in the object at CM 30 over the ground

well any one ho knows what there is wrong then in the gmax for fsx dont want to show the fs tool i have started and shut it down over 100 times some times it bee posible to use and many other times i cant it is a big problem now then i am tryeing to find out how i get the light to light up at day. again then i have to set it up the same way for fs 2004 after that but there is big problems the hole time i sit for houers to get the tools working. i dont know what there is wrong becaus in the start it works 99 % but now i should be lucky to get them shown. another thing i found out if the folder whit the start up exe for gmax is open and the tools can be seen i can shut it down and start it up again whitout problem but if i close it and try over again it dosent work. so i am ZzZzZz it is very iritating now where i hope i am close to the end of the light. becaus right now i dont want to work becaus it dosent work
 
That sounds weird. Did you try re-installing everything, GMax and the tools? Maybe it can be solved that way.
 
well it work but that is standart i just want to know if any other mabe know what the prob could bee

well now i have been tryeing but i dont think i can create an object in fs9 gmax where it light up at day. becaus now i have set up the object the same as to the fs X it was shown but dosent light up so. it was not good! so now i only have 1 thing left, get a light in to the object at 30 cm from the ground like other add ons just dont know how to get a model or somthing like that.
