• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello everyone, I have a problem trying to export an animation I made in gmax, a car animation, I readed the EireSim animation tutorial, in Gmax the animation works OK ;) but when exporting the animation (with the FS2002 gamepack) I readed the .asm files and there is not the lines that should have a file with animated objects like

I don't see those lines in my .asm files

I named the car tick18_Aveo (because the car I made is an Aveo) just like the tutorial says

Please help

Sorry, I don't think there are many people using FS2002 left around here, other than creating ground polys.

Hi Tom, the animation is for FS2004, but I don't know which gamepack I must use, the FS2002 or the FS9, because I need to make it longer than 1024 frames with the ASM tweaking

Help please

I downloaded your file and see what is wrong.

All the animation is correct but exporter does not support path constrain.
1.You need to go to the trajectory page.

2. Then put number of frame to be 1023 (it is from 0-1023 frame is 1024 limitation)

3. Put sample to 50, this will make key frames every 50 frames which is more than enough. Then the final one DON'T FORGET click on Collapse button. (I'm sorry that, even myself, I forgot to make arrow on that button.)

4. You will see the keyframes created by the program. Then you can export it with fs2002 gamepack.

Do not forget to take crash out because a huge bounding box will be created too. (Not sure about that)

I got this idea from this web site but I cannot remember who posted that and where is the thread now.
Hope this help.
Regards,
Tic

I tried your car in my Samui airport and it works now.
Your little car is moving in my field now.

Hello again

I exported the animation using the FS2002 GMax gamepack and tweaked the ASM files because I wanna the animation playing in 4096 frames, tried to compile with the BGLC_9 but the new BGL file wasn't generated, I don't know if I did something wrong while tweaking, here are the ASM files with the tweaked code

Juan, do you think the car's speed is to fast with an animation length of 1024 frames? I managed to get your car running around my airport as well following Tic's advice and simply exporting it with the FS2004 gamepack. After seeing your airport in the showroom thread, I would think given the roadway type, the car's speed would be about right, or maybe even a little slow? As far as I know, the only reason to increase the animation length beyond 1024 would be to slow the car down, or am I missing something?

Have you tried just exporting it with the FS2004 gamepack to see what it looks like?

Jim

I have to admit that I never tweak to get more than 1024 frames.
What I did is I copy another car and run at the end of the first car. So it looks like only one car is moving along the line. Actually there is another car starting outside your visual field. It is easier than tweaking.

I agree with Jim that I don't see the point why you need to export by fs2002 gamepack. But the result are the same whatever gamepack you use.
