Hello. I have a problem when I try to export my model in GMax to a mdl file. First, it pop up an error message (see picture), and then a lot of other error messages comes up. After that one you can see in the picture, it comes like this:

1. Error! ConvertData failed!
2. Error! Failed to run exporter!
3. Flight Simulator Model Exporter Error! Failed to export model: 'C:\gmax\gamepacks\FSX_GmaxGamePack\test'
4: Export! Export module failure!

If any of you can help me, please do it. I really need help with alle those issues.

Are you running Gmax from the shortcut supplied with the sdk? Has the FSX sdk been properly installed? And are you possibly using the Steam edition (which is missing some bits...)?

Yes, I am using the shortcut supplied with the SDK, yes, the SDK is properly installed (i know that because all my other tools works great), and no, I am not using the Steam edition...

The only additional parameter I can think about is a "wrong" setting to the (.) and (,) points through the regional and language settings.

Is my path set right? (see picture) Manwlo, my current setting is (.) (Dott). Should i change that?
Sorry for not answering over a long time, today we are celebrating the national day of Norway.

Start with the first error message. Is modeldef.xml in the location gmax is looking for?

The modeldef.xml file should be in the ..\SDK\Environment Kit\Modeling SDK\bin folder.

Thank you for replys, but it do not work... When I moved my modeldef.xml, one more error came up. It says: "Failed loading animation definition file! C:\gmax\gamepacs\FSX_GMaxGamepack\plugins\ModelDef.xml"
Any idea? I have now my settings as you tolm me to, but there is no differens, Manwlo... But thank you for replying.

I am having a similar problem. I made a post, but with no responses yet:

What I started trying to do, is convert my model out of GMAX as an .obj using a tutorial I found online, and then convert it into MCX that way. From there you can convert it into a .mdl. But my problem was that the textures didn't show when I exported as a .obj. I don't know how I could fix this. Let me know if you have any progress,

Michael :)

I am also haing trouble with the texures... But to import as a obj file worked, just without textures...:(
