• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

GMax exporting trouble

Hmmm. I really want this to work for you. Maybe I can upload my Gmax file? Is that against the terms and conditions though?
 
I have service pack one installed, and my SDK is located C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK..
Good idea uploading your gmax file. I can read over the terms and conditions if it is against them. PS: thank you for helping me!
 
I dont think you are allowed to upload the file... That is how I understood the Software License Agreement... Maybe you shall read it, cause of you are from Canada, and are a master in english.. I am from Norway..:)

For me, this was the fix... I formated my PC, and forgot I had it changed before. Changed . to , and got fixed. Thanks :D

I searched the internet for quite a while this morning before I found this one.
I have tinkered with some projects in Gmax without actually exporting anything since installing FSX-SE a couple of years ago, at which time I had set up ADE and Gmax via the P3D sdk.

I was, as they used to say in the 60's, " trippin' ", that when I went to export something this morning, I could only export in the plasma/.p3d format, and I also could not set a GUID and friendly name.

Apparently, I have a (bad) habit of opening Gmax from my project file icon rather than the Gmax icon I had placed on my desktop. Although the .gmax project file icon works perfectly for any other purpose, it is clearly not the proper method to open Gmax.

Using the desktop icon I had placed there, (knowing it was the "right" icon to use for opening Gmax for just such reasons) worked perfectly once I was reminded why I had placed it there to begin with.

Thank you Tom for reminding me that the solution to my issue was on my desktop.
It's fascinating that I could make sure to do the right thing, and then forget why I did it.
