• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hartsfield-Jackson International Preview

Hes been out of town for a long time from what I understand.
He took my offer to design the AFCAD for his scenery for free, of course with reasonable amounts of credit....
I sent an email to him about 3 or 4 weeks ago with some further details, still waiting for a response.

Well, I guess this project is dead. Nothing heard from the developer since Dec 31,2006. Too bad...ATL is in dire need of some good scenery.:(

Hope we hear from the developer soon on this one, if even just a smidgen of info. He's so close to being done.

Hi guys,

I have shelved ATL for the time being, for a number of reasons that I won't go into in depth - and in future I will only develop for FSX. So, why am I not retooling ATL for FSX? Performance. With SP1 and the round earth trick(slicing ground polys in 100x100m sections), having detailed ground layouts for FSX is possible again. However, the general FSX performance hit, as well as my own quality standards, would combine to make an ATL release for FSX unlikely, at least until it becomes feasible to maintain high quality, with decent performance - or - until computing power catches up with FSX!

My FSX projects, as a result, will be smaller regional airports designed with the latest FSX tools, and will incorporate all the advances and capability the new sim has given us. I'll show previews of my current project when it's a bit farther along. The basic idea will be similar to Flightscenery, but with a smaller photoscenery area, and only one airport. I am also working on a superdetailed ground layout which will(hopefully) rival that of the beautiful FZ02 Portland, which has been quite an inspiration.

Sorry for the bad news guys, and thanks to all who offered their assistance.

Spark,
I hope you reconsider releasing KATL for FS9. There are many MANY folks out there that were / are watching this scenery with much interest. I understand you want to move on to FSX. It would be a shame to let this version (and undeniably the finest KATL) slip through and fade out.

Just a request to reconsider releasing her.

Anyway you would consider releasing what you currenlty have for ATL for FS9 or giving your source files to another dev? Please, we really need a good ATL for FS9. Be a shame to let all your hours of work on it go to waste.

Spark,
Any word on progress? Seems you've got the only KATL going as the payware scenery community has indicated no plans for Hartsfield whatsoever for FS9.

Any updates would be greatly appreciated.

Blake

C'mon guys, give him the time he needs, there's nothing more guaranteed to make a developer give up on a project, than pestering!

He's said he'll think about it and we have to respect that.

What are your tools of choice? I'm pretty skilled at designing and texturing, but I'm just a beginner in the FS dev scene.

I want to know how to put my baked textures onto my airport :)
Did you just build a couple of big models w/ baked textures for the pavement etc and just put them together?

I love your airport.
