• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Help With Compiling to BGL- Error.....

Thanks for trying the 'Grass' option for me.

Here's the XML:

Is there a FSX tool for Editing airport scenery?e.g in FSX,NZCH airport could do with a better terminal building etc.

Thanks

Chappy

I believe you'd want something like GMax to create custom scenery objects.

Okay sweet, i've got Gmax(because i wanted to make aircraft for FSX) so how would i make the Gmax object a FSX scenery object to place?]

also how could i 'delete' the original terminal building in FSX?

Looking at the airport, the reason that your taxiway signs are being duplicated is because the exclusion rectangle only covers a few of the taxiway signs. In order to remove taxiway signs you need to exclude the master taxiway sign. As it is very difficult to determine which one that is, it is best to create an exclusion rectangle that covers the entire airport. Then set this rectangle to exclude only taxiway signs. That way when you write the taxiway signs into your newly modified airport, all the old taxiway signs will be removed and replaced with your new ones.

So basically, you can't exclude just a couple of taxiway signs. You must exclude them all.

In FSX is it possible to only allow specific aircraft to take-off on specific runway, e.g runway 02 grass at NZCH is too small to be a secondary runway(because secondary runways are use by 737's etc) but its big enough for FSX- General Aviation aircraft to take-off and land on. So would it be possible to only allow G/A aircraft to take-off on runway 02-Grass, insted of having 737's etc no where near make it off the ground on 02 grass?

if this is possible in FSX than could you please make it an option in the next update for FSX-P.

Here's the scenery i've been working on. Could u guys check through it in game and out to see if there's anything wrong(i've checked and edited it myself aswell).

I've changed:the taxiways that connect to the end of runways 11 and 29 (the sign at the hold short line of 11, where it displays the runway number the background has been black, i have made sure it was on 'runway' in the taxiway sign wizard too, i made a new sign for that postion so check to see if its correct).

Taxi along the main terminal building apron towards the ocean and on your left with be runways <02 and >20, the second taxiway along the apron to your left, if you taxi along it you go backwards towards runway 02 to get onto runway 20(which is how it is in real life) check thats all correct too.

The grass runway directly across from the main terminal building: check thats okay aswell as the taxiways- make sure they're not going off the airport ground area.

the three hold short points infront of that grass runway aswell need to be checked.

Basically just make sure i havent made any stupid mistakes i have missed, please.

post back here once you've looked at it and tell me if its good or not(im still editing more of the airport taxiways too).

here's the XML and BGL of the scenery.

Thanks

In FSX is it possible to only allow say a cessna 172, and piper cherokee 180 to land on a certain runway at a certain airport- e.g only cessna's and piper cherokee's can land and take-off on runway 02-grass, so can i only allow those two aircraft to be allocated that runway for take-off and landing by the tower?

For all who are concerend here is the latest scenery for NZCH for you's to check over. I've checked it over and it looked okay to me, i changed some stuff and it should be good.

How would i go about deleting two specific trees in FSX that are in the way of landing on the runway 02-grass at NZCH?

You will need to place an exclusion polygon using a tool such as SBuilderX or FSX KML.

isnt there a simple to use tool like FSX-planner that lets you delete auto-ge, because i cant use SBuilderX because i dont know how to open an airport like NZCH airport and i've downloaded the tutorials but still i cant, and with FSX-KML that was hard too, and if possible to delete auto-gen in XML style i'd like to stick to that becaue i know how to compile it to BGL already.

Not that I am aware of. In FS9 you could delete autogen trees using xml exclusion rectangle but that does not work with FSX. AFX uses a technique of placing dummy scenery objects to do it but that can cause another set of problems. You really need a polygon that has been compiled using Shp2Vec to do this properly.

Okay, so wats the easiest tool around to do that with, and where can i find instructions on how to use it.

Thanks

Chappy

Unless you do it by hand then it is FSX KML or SBuilderX. I don't know of another tool but maybe someone else does

I've already got SBuilder X but i cannot use it and ive got the tutorial files but i still cant use it, so if someone here could tell me how to get NZCH aiprort up on SBuilder X to get ridd of some auto-gen please.

Thanks
