• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Help With Compiling to BGL- Error.....

I've already got SBuilder X but i cannot use it and ive got the tutorial files but i still cant use it, so if someone here could tell me how to get NZCH aiprort up on SBuilder X to get ridd of some auto-gen please.

Thanks

Chappy

Chappy here is NZCH.SBP A SBX file for your airport. I went to NZCH in FSX and then started SBX and said show aircraft. Then I clicked on show backround and used YahooSatellite to see the airport. I made a quick polygon around the airport boundries and gave it flatten, MaskClass, ExcludeAutogen properties. Please feel free to make any chnges you need. Hope this is of some help.

Since we are talking about Sbuilderx we need to move this part over to the sbuilder forum.

I've got something that needs to be looked at in FSX-p: i've made a taxiway sign, a runway sign to have a red background, but in FSX it has a black background, this has happend with four of my signs.

here's the XML, it's the sign near runway 11, on the hold-short line, and also hold 1, 2 and three along the grass runway 02.

In the Scenery im making i am going to place parking positions on an apron and on the grass near the apron, but in real life the parking positions have no lines going to them so how would people know where to park, what can i do about this?

thanks

turn off the markings and lights for those parking links?

EDIT

Sorry I don't think that is the answer to your question - but then I don't think I understand what you are asking

lol.
Im saying that in real life where the aircraft get parked is on an apron, the taxiways connecting to the apron have lines but on the apron itself there is no lines, the aircraft just get parked where-ever kind-of, so in the FSX-P i want to place parking places, but because i am not going to make a taxiway line going to it how will i know it's there in FSX?

Well AI traffic will still find the parking spots if they are linked to the taxi network. If you are talking about user aircraft then how do pilots find the spots in real life?

okay kool.

well the apron is for the canterbury aero-club which is directly across from the main terminal for christchurch international-NZCH, and the pilots just park the plane where the got it from basically, but the the planes are parked infront of the Canterbury aero-club building, in real life, and the pilots just pick a spot next to the other aircraft to park at.

User aircraft can park anywhere ("Taxi to general aviation parking"), AI aircraft must follow existing taxiways/apron links to an existing parking spot. If you use apron links with no markings, there will be no indication on the apron.

Okay i think i will just put the parking spots there but i wont make marking on the apron. i still need the canterbury aero club buildings though, and i cant make them, and unfortunately i dont have photos of them, but there is scenery out for NZCH airport that has those building but when i E-mailed them they never replied.

Thanks

I've put the parking spots on the apron with no marking and its kool, just like in real life.

theres a parking spot on that apron too but it doesnt have any marks and you can acess it from any angle, not just from one side, so would i just make a parking spot, 'fuel location' and not put any markings on the apron. would that work?

thanks
