• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Not connected to main graph. No traffic moving right now. Have tried changing Taxiway Path from Taxi to Path (main taxiways and also the taxiway paths that connect to parking. They say MSFS won't see the parking spots etc and thinks there are no parking so ai's land/disappear etc. Tried changing and drawing aprons. Just lost. What to do now? using ADE and viewing errors in MSFS Editor..( which I really don't know how to use)... I am reading this post but not sure what to do: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/t...ed-to-main-graph-question.454197/#post-894658

from the SDK...

Connecting A Taxiway Path

Once you have placed the taxiway parking spot in the world, it will generally need to be connected to TaxiwayPoint Objects using TaxiwayPath Objects. To do this you must first select the taxiway parking object in the world, then use Ctrl and left mouse button to select the taxiway point that you want it to connect to. You can then do one of the following things to add a path between the two:

  • Select the Taxiway Path Object in the Objects window and click Add.
  • Use the Right Mouse Button and select the Create Path option.
This will then add a Taxiway Path object between the point and the parking, which will look like this in the world:

A Taxiway Path Linking A Parking Spot And A Taxiway Point

NOTE: Taxiway Paths added to link Parking Spots with Taxiway Points will not have a surface texture and should be placed over Apron Objects if you require a texture. When you connect the point to the parking, the parking spot heading will be rotated to be parallel to the path.

Am I on the right path :) Even if I attempt to save scenery it says invalid child and won't save anyway.

Thanks,
BobM.

In less than 2 weeks we have SU8. So waiting might be the best course here. Meanwhile, without the airport XML, or better the whole project, we'd just be guessing about the cause of the errors and how to fix them. You can zip the project and attach it.

I made this ADE project from your XML. In the ADE view menu, turn off everything except taxiways and parking, Then click on each runway mand select Hide. now you can get a good view of what you have. Quite a few unconnected links, some look odd and maybe the wrong type. And as a rule, I think taxiways are usually invisible and use aprons to make the visible paths.

Thanks @rhumbaflappy
I have redone some of this and most of errors are no longer red but a few.
