• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I want to add extra objects [different civilians and trees], to my scenery i am working on ? How to add without having to create in blender ?

I am working on a scenery [an airport] that i am hoping to place in the marketplace. My question was, i wanted to add some civilians of different types, and wanted to know how i can add such objects without having to create them from scratch in Blender ? These objects are not available in the regular Asobo object library available in the SDK. Is there a scenery library or something available somewhere , that i can use ? How are such objects added into your project ? thanks

I think there might be some libraries available on flightsim.to, but remember these might have certain copywrites attached to them. Be sure to read all legals if your intent is payware and freeware, I would still take a look at the legals.

I would suggest reading the sdk / youtube regarding project creation and then diving into learning blender or 3dsmax. These will give you ultimate control on what you want in the sim.

Hope this helps

There's a tutorial on how add people in the download here - https://flightsim.to/file/33166/animated-humans-library that's a library of animated people but it wouldn't be usable for payware as some models are from free sources and only for free distribution.

And a video on how to do it here -

You can take any existing human mesh and animate it with Mixamo without having to scratch build the mesh or animation. The Mixamo animations aren't very exciting or varied but there are quite a few of them.

As for where to find human meshes, you may need to buy some in but there are some here usable for free commercially to start off with - https://renderpeople.com/free-3d-people/

If you're not bothered about animation that makes things a lot simpler. There are a couple of civilians in the core install, a businessman and a pilot, but it would look silly stretching them out to a whole airport.

Thanks your reply. I do use Blender , and have become fairly proficient at making hangars and buildings . Just recently learned PBR texturing too. But making organic objects [ humans] is a whole different level of complexity! I will check out those flightsim.to objects but have steered clear from them for now, since they are probably all meant for freeware only.

See post above, it will be helpful. There are programs, I use character creator 4, but I think there's free alternatives such as makehuman.
