• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I'm working on scenery... (2017)

I'm currently working on KXNA 2017, as I am now calling it. It's been an ongoing project for the last two years, as I knew absolutely nothing about making scenery in the beginning. I also didn't have time to really invest in learning because of military duty. There were also a lot of setbacks :banghead:. I'm very passionate about this airport, because I only live 5 minutes away. It's also the very first airport I edited using ADE, adding runway 17-35. I tried that fantastic freeware KXNA 2012, but was disappointed with static jetways, only one season, fps hit, and the invisible crash box in front of the tower.

Here is the latest screenshot, taken early this morning. Photoreal ground scenery is finished. The terminal is not quite done yet...

Here is a screenshot of the all-season photoreal scenery, masked, blended, and color matched to Orbx Global...

I will continue to post updates about this ongoing project. Hopefully it won't turn into KXNA 2018! I still have a lot to do :coffee:

You can follow me on Twitter @fsxfuscentral , or add me on Steam (JackRiordan), as I also post updates on there as well. Many thanks to Scruffyduck, ModelConverterX, Sketchup, SBuilderX, FSDeveloper, and anything or anyone else I forgot to mention that's offered free tools, tutorials, guides, etc.

It's more of a project than just a terminal model, because in order for this to work you need to remove the existing terminal A.

Thats a great idea does Drew visit this forum, if not I could email him.
I don't think I've seen him posting stuff here, most people who are posting here are small teams or individuals. So I'd suggest you post your question on their forum.

I'm trying to learn how to draw my own custom ground texture for a bigger project. We can't use satellite images for copyright and money issues so we (I) will paint one myself instead. To get there I use my old home airport as a test bed. ESGH is mostly used for gliders, the local club has produced a few quite good pilots over the years so I thought that they might like this as well, I know that they use simulators for training purposes.

So far it's working quite well. My biggest problem were to position all the different images at the correct spot but I have solved that in a way that works for me now. As you can see in the image the river is causing me some issues that I need to resolve, but apart from that I'm quite satisfied with my progress.

The images is from XP but the following project will be for both XP and P3D/FSX.

Looks good :)
I'm curious how it will look in FSX/P3D. Waiting for the official thread.
