Just read this, good news or bad news for developers??? ...http://www.dovetailgames.com/news/2...es-licensing-deal-with-microsoft-takes-flight

The licensing is for the technology Microsoft has developed for flight simulation. Using this, Dovetail will make new flight simulators.
The distribution right is for FSX:Gold, which they plan to distribute via Steam ( which will give Dovetail an income stream while they develop a new flightsim ).
They have no rights for MS Flight... at least it has never been mentioned in any press releases.

The best hope is that Dovetail develops a great new simulator with SDK support and encourages 3rd party developers. Who knows...

That is how I read it too.
For Dovetail to attempt to resuscitate MS Flight would be asking for/ deserving of bankruptcy.

I think to make dicussion useful, it would be good if we discuss about their bussiness model that should work. And please, every time we start dicussion about Flight, we end up with "Fight".

As for incorporating into a new product any improved performance technologies from MS Flight as Brandon suggested, I'm not so sure the new team that developed Flight even understood how the Flight Simulator franchise used to work in the old days.
