• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 MSFS Marketplace Partner Program

Checking in ... currently 5 months into wait; 2 titles previously on the Marketplace via large publisher, decided to go my own way, nothing yet. How's everyone else doing?

I waited a week so far and then Google led me to this thread. Oh wow, I guess I shouldn't wait for Microsoft and just go with simMarket, I think as a first-timer it's my only option. No issues with getting accepted by MS once your airport is already sold on simMarket I guess? I see many add-ons published in multiple stores. Many of them don't seem interested in first-time designers (understandable I guess, more overhead).

I've been around the FS scene for years, ever since FS2.0, and have won development awards, yet I seem to have been badmouthed by another developer to the MSFS team, even though I worked on DTG FSW and FSFS. I was part of the FSX beta, was on the design advisory board for FS 11 before it was canned, was on teams looking at developing new sims after FSX, was asked to apply for the FSW business manager position before MSFT bought back the code. Most everything I wrote in the game design documents for FSW have been implemented by the new team. Applied to work on the team for MSFS, was told they didn't want to apply for a visa, even though I had the right to work in the EU already. I had my own products for FSX and P3D for well over 10 years. I applied for the marketplace partner program 2 years ago and still no response. I have an idea of who may be behind it, but can't publicly say. I can't even say for sure, but I seem to have been frozen out by the new company based on hearsay, I have no idea how to address it either.

I've had my first product (admittedly minor, to test the waters) in my own store and on Simmarket for over a year now, I applied to the Marketplace nearly 2 years ago, so having something for sale already certainly doesn't seem to help here.
In answer to a community question in the recent MS dev Q&A, Jorg did say that they monitor the forums etc and see which upcoming releases people are excited about, and this helps get the dev into the Marketplace. So I guess just go hard, put a product or two in an online store, then promote it all out, and hope that the reaction gets it noticed.

I have been waiting for 2.5 months now. What a stupid inefficient process. I have been developing since FS9 with several successful paywares, good recognition...yet no replies to emails after applying.

I may just cave in for someone to rep for me in the marketplace who already has access. They charge a 5% fee. Has anyone here gone this route? I don't mind just selling outside of Marketplace, my issue is I have a large customer base on XBox and Marketplace appears to be the way to get them access.

Very poorly managed by MS.

Hello! Stuck here for seven months, edited my application multiple times because it was enough time to develop more sceneries. I guess i have no hope on waiting their response, i think ill try contacting them or emailing about it like some people here did. Where can i contact them? I wasn't able to find contact info in the MS partner center

For me they replied quickly when I cancelled and restarted my application.

No success... tried contacting them via zendesk support, but they replied they are catching up with marketplace content backlog while managing limited team capacity, seems like the team is only able to manage few new partners

Hi,
wouldn't it be much better if you chose one of the big players as your publisher, like Aerosoft GmbH? There are of course others, such as ORBX etc.
You would then have the advantage that the publisher takes care of the Market Place and you can concentrate fully on your development work.

I'll see what I can do about that, thanks for the suggestion
