• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4.4 MDL support

hey
i may ask a lot of features but i think this one is really usefull
so in Default 3DS max Prepar3DPBR material : there is a section where we can assign a LUA script to our material.
that will be usefull to add for our Ground polygins to support rain snow ....
hope you think about this feature and take the right decision if it's needed or not in MCX.
thnx in advance and have a nice day :)

In the material editor you can add a script already. This will not be lost if you run the file through the GPW.

Hello Arno, sorry if I sound impatient, and I am certainly grateful for what you have done with Fsdeveloper.com. Thank you so much!

I am still having issues having the final bgl with the 'round earth attachment'. I am able to do it with a previous version with the gp wizard and convert wizard, but now I am not. Perhaps I am doing something wrong in my settings. What can it be? thanks for your help!

Hi,

Maybe you can explain what you are trying to do. I see no problem to load an object, apply the earth curve corrections and then save it to bgl file. So what is your workflow? And why do you think it does not work?

I was looking again at this. It appears if the model doesn't have PBR materials, it can export with a 'mcx cur correction' attachment without issues. If it has PBR materials it doesn't export with the attachment.

@arno hey
the mdl exporter worked yestreday before the GPW update but now i can't export and xtmdl well setted to 4.4
so here is the log ( there are some words in the log in french so i'm here to explain any word without problem )

EDIT : i found the solution : the model name was containning the character "<" so the XtoMDL didn't accept it
you can maybe in futur make MCX saying to people that the char < or others aren't accepted
and for the convert and place tool i can't export to 4.4 bgl it says that it need the v4 bglcomp and i didn't assign it in the settings to be sure i work with 4.4
sorry for enoying you with suggestions today :)
and thank you for the great work
have a nice day

Why do you think it does not work? I can correct a model with PBR materials for the earth curve as well and then export it to P3D v4.4 BGL without any problems.

I have fixed that bug now, in the next development release it should work. The settings check had not yet been updated for v4.4, so it was still checking v4.
