• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Package Builds but not visible...

I just updated the last few days to the SU9 Beta which includes the new SDK 18.0 - I wanted to test my latest airport project and continue working on it with the latest SDK. I open the project in DevMode and build the project which returns with 0 errors. When I load into the airport in the sim it is showing the default airport and not my project which says it built correctly. If I then open the project in the scenery editor it will load into the sim but my 3D models are missing that I have already previously placed. I have checked the virtual file system and it shows my package loaded in the system. I am at a loss..... Anyone else having this issue because so far I have not found anyone else with this problem on the new SDK?

The problem is never the SDK version. The DevMode is within the sim. I would expect problems when using the beta version... and there is never a guarantee that anything produced with the beta will actually be usable in the official update. My advice is to remove the beta and reinstall the official version of the sim.

I seem to be having the opposite problem as you. Using Sim 9 with SDK 18. If I build a package all is fine, but I can not see things in the editor. However, if I load the package I can see things with some slight texture issues. Before being able to load my game again I was actually getting a error that said something like QMID ID Is not the same as the Airport. However, I am having many issues with the new updates.

They just updated the beta after I posted this same question in the DevSupport forum. Part of the update was DevMode fixes and they specifically mentioned it fixed my issue. I just tried building my project and it seems so far that it's all working as expected again. I would try the new update and see if it fixed any of your problems as well.

No luck for me just yet.
