• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Parking Problem

The Files are going into Addon Scenery - Scenery.
CHYM _ADEX_FCL.ad2

CYHM_ADEX_FCL.BGL

Mayby there is something I missed when installing FSX Deluxe Edition. I made a search for this information but no luck yet.

I found 2 BGL CYHM Files and 2 CYTR files in Microsoft Flight Simulator. So the BGL files are not going to Addon Scenery - Scenery for some reason.

That would certainly stop them working. When you compile with ADE you can set the folder to compile to - make sure that is Addon Scenery\scenery. Also you do not need to put the project (.ad2) file in FS. FS does not understand that file - it only understands Bgl files.

If you are running Vista or W7, do not compile to a folder in C:\Program files\

Yes, I always compile to a folder on the desktop

c:\Users\Primary\Desktop\Myairport\scenery

I do not do any work within the c:\program files directory, even though all files are stored there, I move to the desktop when working on them.

Doing it to the program files folder will put a UAC lock on the item, even if the ADE is run in Admin mode (depending on your UAC level setting).

I have always compile to install in Addon/Scenery and the .ad2 files are at present going into Documents.

I did a lot of repairing and I lost all of my Buildings. I am now trying to get Gmax up and running so I can get my Buildings back in my airports. Right now i'm havinf trouble exporting.
My documents go back to fs2002. And...with a case of aspiren I'm getting there. Frank!

Use modelconverterX.
They have a thread here.

There is nothing wrong with compiling into the scenery folder, but it can cause issues when the UAC tries to interfere.

Now I'm getting frustrated. My flights were getting jerky so I thought it may have been something to do with ADE Beta, so I removed it and installed the 150 version and now I cannot COMPILE. The flights are much better,

I also removed Acceleration and did a repair on FSX deluxe, and updated FSX SDK as well. Still cannot compile. I'm feeling useless at this game. Frank!

FSX sp version must match the SP version for the SDK. There is an SDK thread that explains all this, I recommend a quick read of it to make sure your removal of ACC doesnt affect its functions. Even the seasoned people have to resort to wiki for refreshers.

What message are you getting when you try to compile?

It starts off with "UNKNOWN BglComp". Two airports are affected this way. The stock airports are okay. My best bet would be to start rebuilding the airports.

Maybe I should install the new Beta again. I have the 1.50.4402 installed now.

I re-installed The Beta vision and useing a background of the airport I did a lot of changes. I saved the airport and compiled it wih no problems. When started FSX my changes were not there. Just the stock airport. I went back into ADE and hid the Background, saved and compiled, checked FSX and still none of my changes were present. I put in some new taxyways, checked for faults, but in FSX my AI Aircraft where there. I think maybe I should check the item on what's not working in the Beta. Frank!

Hm, what folder are you placing them?
double check to make sure the bgl file is in an active \scenery directory.

UNKNOWN BglComp is not an error. That comment should be removed in the future since it is misleading. I personally would stick with 1.50.4402 and not go back an forth. In fact it is entirely sensible that both 1.50 and 1.51 can be installed at the same time - they install in separate locations and do not share any information. Be aware that each time you uninstall/re-install you are going back to the defaults. I would be as sure as I can be that your issues have nothing to do with ADE so I would strongly recommend not messing around with the ADE installations.

No that isn't the message Frank :) My point is that it is going to be more frustrating for you to keep installing and uninstalling ADE ;)

I can be wrong of course
