• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Of course I am planning to do South Africa! But it still need some time until I am such far south...

Good afternoon everyone!

Today I could complete Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, so I have a few pictures for you!
But now, near the equator, you can find a lot of clouds on satellite images...

Good morning!

I need your highly esteemed opinion again!
I am currently rewriting my scripts so that I can also run them on other computers.
I came across a brand new set of global landcover data (-> https://sci-hub.tw/10.1016/j.scib.2019.03.002).
This data set has a resolution of 10 m/px, so it is approx. 2.5 times more accurate than the data set that is currently being used for the autogen generation.

However, this more accurate data set would mean a 5-10 times longer creation time.
What do you think - does it make sense to use new dataset?

EDIT:
Two comparison images from ArcGIS to get an impression of the two data sets.
The upper half are the 30 m/px data (which I use so far) and the lower half are the new data with 10 m/px.

Hi guys and Servus!

Here is a short progress report on the current status of the project:
I am currently working on the photoscenery of the Sudan.
At the same time I am working on a big update for Morocco and Tunisia.
From Morocco I already have 3 pictures with me:
Marrakech:

And Tanger:

Wonderful, that looks very good indeed! It looks like you've been able to mitigate the 'random' trees spread around the fields? Looking forward to the update, and of course Sudan. I recently discovered a decent freeware rendition of HSSS - just in time!
