• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Suggestions for Improvements to User Experience

Copy /paste of parking spots increments parking numbers. I just checked.

After fighting with autogen, and having a zillion restarts at two demanding airports to check if I loose AG or not for each new ground poly (yes, almost each poly has its own group number), I have a very strong need to see the bounding box around each GP group in ADE. This would help a lot sorting out the AG problems.

Don needs to comment on that ADE has no information itself about groups but if Don can send that back from his code then we can think about this

To be able to copy and paste several items at once would be good.

And in add>library object. Selecting the object and hitting enter rather than clicking "add" would been a boon too!

...And being able to set a different default scenery complexity setting for new objects other than normal would be nice.

Just some ideas. :)

A keyboard shortcut for add>Library Object would be nice too.. But I would say that. I'm placing a million trees...

Shaun, what kind of "new objects" are you talking about? If you are talking about library objects, when you right click, Add..., Library Object, the box that comes up includes an "Image Complexity" drop down box. I assume you choose your scenery density there. I don't know why it's called Image Complexity and not Scenery Density, though...

The approach editor should allow to insert legs and or to change their type without deleting all the following entries before changing something at the beginning of the chain.

When you add a new type leg it puts it at the bottom of the chain. Highlight the leg and use the "U" key to move it up. "D" key moves it down.

Oops, sorry Jim for bothering you with stuff I should have known. RTFM.... :banghead: Actually I did - more than once, but in most cases obviously too selective.

A suggestion for comfort: When taking over objects into the Library Object Manager it would be helpful having a drop-down list allowing to enter the object Category (like it exists for the search function) but allowing to extend it if required, of course.

That is a good idea Axel :)

Hi Jon, I'm not sure if you've changed anything but for the first time (I belive) ADE updated and restarted etc without crashing. I made a post on page 1 or 2 about it. Thought I'd let you know. It was to the 1.65.5492.15626
Can anyone else with this problem confirm the same?

Hello,...

Unfortunately, I still had the a message that ADE had closed due to a problem,... but it still updated also,... as previous mentioned above...

There is nothing I can do about this short of changing the way ADE works and removing the third party software and writing my own. If the message is not affecting the actual update then I am sorry that it is inconvenient.

No problem at all - just thought to follow up.

Jon - I don't know if this is feasible idea (probably just a dumb one actually). I don't even know if it would be useful for others but how about an option to create a Jetway as you add a GATE? Kills two birds with one stone and removes the chore ;) of an additional Add plus dialog and then placement. Make it an option though as many won't require it or even some kind of key-stroke combination when adding a GATE.

Very low-priority and completely driven by selfish desire to assist me in adding GATES to a couple of very large airports (120+ GATES):rotfl:
