• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Folks

I have decided that it is time for me to take a break from ADE and FS Developer. I don't know how long this will be for but I feel that I am getting rather tetchy at the moment and that is not good for me or the community.

If any critical bugs are found in ADE then I will, of course, fix them as soon as possible. Otherwise there will be a break from new updates and so on.

As for support there are many folks here who are more competent than I on answering questions.

Please do keep reporting any issues and suggestions. I will certainly look at them and act on them when I feel ready to get back into things.

In the meantime I wish y'all good flying and clear skies :D

Hi Jon,

We all go through it - it's certainly well deserved - enjoy your time away !!!
:)

Regards,
Scott

Hi Jon,

After launching 1.55.4809 you deserve a break. I mean a complete break. Do not think about ADE until you are tanned, rested, and ready.
Thanks for all your efforts. We couldn't do this without you.

Ed

forcing yourself to work is just a sign that you need to stop working, so good on you knowing when to step away before you ruin whatever love you had of doing this in the first place! We all certainly need both short and long breaks from time to time to recharge the batteries.

Cheers!

This isnt an ACES style break is it? :)

Seriously, rest up. We all need a rest period at times.

We could start a pool to his return to action date. Opening slots going for $5 a pick. Losers push an extra $2 and winners kick 25% to the bookie.

Enjoy your break, Jon

We have to thank you every day for your excellent work!

Greetings from Bavaria

thanks Jon for everything. I haven't been around much lately, but I do have 4809 up and running and it is very nice indeed.

Glad for you too, John, that you take a break.
That should give us some rest as well:D!
I hope it is just to relax, clean and defrag your mind, and to change access rights and priorities for a while?
Besides, as far as I know now, in ADE everything now works to my (almost:)) entire satisfaction.

Roby

It always happens; when I get to the party everyone else is leaving... HA! (I found out that I am the reason they're leaving).

Seriously, I know the feeling of needing a rest. I was hooked on the "crack" of scenery design '98 thru 2003 and had to take a break when it was driving me silly.

Enjoy your rest and a big THANK YOU for what you've given us!

You always seem un-tetchy to me, Jon! (nowhere near as tetchy as I am)

Have a good break, break out the woodworking tools, a few bottles of red-wine (not in combination with the wood-working tools) and cups of tea and enjoy life outside.

... and say hi to your loved ones from us.

Wwhattt?

Hi,

A bit astonished that a couple of days after Jon formally announced (and in writing) that he was going to take a break, we get an ADE update???
Either he has had a very, very short break or somebody else did the update.
I know it is hard when you are addicted but this...:scratchch!

Iam still having mybreak Roby but I did promise that if there were any important or critical bugs reported I would fix them ;)

Jon,
just read it all today: Many thanks for all that pieces of software supplied.
May be it gives you an additional push once to jump back into business: ADE devellopped airports may well be "ported" to X-Plane.
Greetings
Christian
