• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Time to Retire

Well the title says it all. I have been working on flight sim and especially ADE since around 2006. Now is the time to set aside these things. My private life with my family needs to take first place.

I want to thank everyone over the years who have used my software and contributed to it's development. There a long list of people - too long to list here but you know who you are.

As to the future the websites will stay up and I will still be around here primarily as an administrator of the forums but also as an occasional contributor to the posts and converstations

Meanwhile thanks again and I wish you all clear skies
Thank you Jon for your dedication and caring for this thing we call flight simulation. And for helping all of us over the many years.

I saw this post late last night.
Just wanted to say a hearty thank you for all you've done to make my flight time more enjoyable. In fact I've enjoyed fixing and updating and creating sceneries in ADE more than actually flying in them. Thank you, again!

Jon, we will miss you a lot. Thank you for helping us so often in our personal projects, sharing your in-depth knowledge, and supporting seamlessly those who use your applications for so long. Now relax and take some good time!

Hervé

Many thanks for your hard work and especially your input over the years. You helped me on a few occasions and your knowledge was just invaluable. ADE has been a godsend to us all. It's time to enjoy your time with your family.

Jon, I am so sorry to see you go, yet understand I do. I am not a pilot or even a person of aviation. I am an Educator. Even so, your work and the software you developed. made it possible for me to actively. engage flight simulation at a level that I never even considered possible. I was able to craft an airport (KMDN, screen snip below) for my own use in flight sim starting with FSX. May your retirement be all you want it to be. Wishing you the best Always.

Dear Jon,

Thank you so much for all your contributions over the years; they have made our work so much easier and for me the ADE was one of the first tools which helped me to understand I could do cool stuff in the sim on my own :D

Henrik

Thank you for your great contribution to the community, ADE was/is one of the main tools of countless developers for many years. You contributed to the joy of many many users. Enjoy retirement! :) :)

Many thanks for all the efforts you made. You made me a great pleasure to be able to design and mod airports all around the world. Without ADE flightsimming was only half the fun as it was so far.

Dan

Just want to add to the chorus of thanks and best wishes -- you've contributed so much to the community and flight simming wouldn't have been the same without you! Hope everything goes well for you in the future! :)

Thanks for the great job you have done.

Question - are you handing ADE to someone else or is this the end of its development?

Have a great retirement, Jon! Thanks so much for all you've done during your long FS career. You've helped a whole bunch of us scenery devs immensely. Enjoy some well-deserved time off!
